Still With You

The Accident

"Tae's car got crashed" Mirae said, panicking before dashing out of the cabin grabbing her car keys and handbag.

"What? Wait, I'm coming too" he said and ran following her.

The drive towards Severance hospital was hell of a ride for both of them. Jungkook didn't let Mirae drive in her current state even if he was equally devastated as her. Both had their worries and prayers for their special person.

Running towards the casualty unit Mirae spotted Kim Jiwon, Tae's mom giving an earful to his secretary Mr. Choi which gained people's attention.

"Aunt Jiwon" she called and ran towards her.

"Mirae" Jiwon hugged her, patting her head.

"Where's Tae?" She asked, relieving from the hug.

"He's undergoing surgery right now. Don't worry he'll be fine."

"What exactly happened ?"

"Huhh...he was driving alone and somehow lost control and crashed into the nearby truck which was parked on the side."

Mirae let out a small gasp and Jungkook was listening to the convo standing a bit far from them.

"Why would you let him go by himself even if he says no? Irresponsible idiot!" She showered her anger towards Mr. Choi who was now standing with his head hung low.

"Aunt, calm down. Please sit here" Mirae said and made her sit on the bench in front of the operation theatre.

"Media is going to make a mess right now. The wedding is in a week. What are we supposed to do now?" She said massaging her forehead in frustration.

'Really? Does she even realise her son is fighting for his life inside? All she cares about is the media and a damn wedding right now?' Mirae was looking at her with a frown right now.

"What are you waiting for? Contact the PR team and release a statement before the media starts drawing conclusions. I have already talked with inspector Kang. We'll say the truck caused the accident...and yes...contact the truck driver and settle the deal. At least do this properly." She shrieked at him.

"Yes mam" he said and dashed off.

Mirae felt disgusted now, and Jungkook scoffed at hearing all this. 'This woman will never change' he thought. Rubbing off the tears from his eyes, Jungkook turned back only to see another familiar woman coming inside. It's been years since he saw her last time, but still her aura is scary as before. Coming closer they locked their eyes which made her look at him in confusion. He remained timid with his expressions while she didn't stop right there. She just moved forward ignoring him. He then saw a man in formal suits trying to catch up with her. 'Mr. Cha' remembered Jungkook. The man stopped for a moment and looked at him. He gave him a small smile and he returned back the same smile, a smile of realisation. He then continued to follow his boss in a hurry.

"Jiwon" she called.

"Miseon-ah" Tae's mom got up from her seat and hugged her friend. Mirae too stood up from her seat which made her lock eyes with her mother.

"Why don't you pick my calls?" Miseon asked sternly to which Mirae mumbled "Mom, not right now".

Miseon released a frustrated sigh and walked towards the other side of the corridor with Jiwon.

"He'll be fine." Mr Cha mouthed Mirae before following Miseon to which she nodded.
