ᴛɪᴛʟᴇ: A Misclick?
The day, filled with unexpected twists and turns, finally drew to a close. Exhausted but exhilarated, you and Lucifer finally made your way to the hotel.
You stood side by side outside the hotel, the warm glow of the lights reflecting off the pavement. You turned to him, feeling a surge of gratitude. "Thank you," you said, a genuine smile crossing your face as you soaked in the moment.
"It's nothing," he replied, a wide, almost mischievous smile stretching across his face. It was the kind of smile that suggested he enjoyed these little errands, these walks to people's doorsteps, and perhaps even hoped for more.
"You can come in if you want," you offered, turning the door handle behind you. "You don't need to be shy with Charlie. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you."
He clutched your hand, his grip tight. "Wait," he said, his voice suddenly weary.
You instinctively unturned the handle, "But-" he cuts you off.
"I'm busy, so I can't," he said, avoiding your gaze. You knew he was lying-he was terrible at it.
"It's okay, I understand," you said, a small smile playing on your lips. "You didn't have to lie."
Finally, he met your eyes. "I- I'm not," he mumbled, his face flushing a little. You couldn't help but chuckle at his flustered reaction.
"I should've bought that tiny figurine of yours," you said, teasingly.
"Why? Are you afraid you'll miss me?" he retorted, a smirk playing on his lips.
You rolled your eyes, "Oh, shut up."
He chuckled and leaned in, brushing a light kiss against your cheek. "God, you're so cute," he whispered, his breath warm against your ear.
Your hand instinctively flew to your cheek, the heat rising within you. You felt petrified, a statue frozen in time. He burst out laughing, a deep, rumbling sound that filled the air.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA." he roared, his laughter echoing in the quiet street. Without a second thought, your hand shot out, landing squarely on his shoulder.
"Heeeey, what was that for?" he exclaimed, feigning hurt.
You mumbled a shy apology, "Sorry," your voice barely audible. "But don't do that without my permission!"
His laughter softened into a chuckle. "My body acted on its own," he teased.
You blushed even deeper, "Yeah right."
"Anyway, I have some errands to run, see you later, cutie." he said, clicking his fingers with a playful wink. A burst of confetti erupted around him, and then, just like that, he vanished into thin air.
