"I'm sorry..." Mike said frustratedly, crossing his arms.
"Why are you mad? You're the one who betrayed me!" I yell.
"I said I'm sorry, I'm mad at myself..." He answered me. "Do you want me to make it up to you? Maybe grab some coffee together or something?" He placed his hands on his hips.
It sounded good to me. I wasn't able to remember the last time I was able to go out and just talk with someone over coffee... Though I'm not a big coffee fan.
I nodded my head. "Yes." I say frustratedly.
"Good." He smiled. "Five o'clock. I'll pick you up."
"Well... Do you need my address?" I ask, to which he said yes, and I did.
"See you then." I said, sitting into my car and driving away.
I slept like a rock, I was really exhausted by the time I got home, and it was no question why.
I woke up around 5 by my cellphone ringing loudly, I picked up and Mike told me he was outside, so I told him I'd be right out.
I scurried around my room, throwing on whatever I thought looked cute, and ran out the door. I had gotten to the front door when I saw my reflection and realized my eye was still a bit swollen, but no more discoloration. It was still noticeable. I flinched and grabbed a pair of sunglasses, and ran outside into his small gray car.
"Sorry about that." I sign a breath or relief.
"It's fine." He says, shifting into drive, when we began cruising down the street.
"Where did you plan on going?" I ask curiously.
"Not sure. Probably Starbucks?"he asks. I hate Starbucks, and coffee... But I not because I don't know any other coffee places.
Once we got there we stepped in and I took a seat by the back of the building, as he went to get us coffee.
I rest my face in my palms and begin to ponder about helping those poor, poor people...
Once Mike sits down with our drinks, he begins talking.
"So, what's your hobby?" He smiles like the average person, and he knows damn well I am not.
"Uh... Sitting in my room on the Internet ... Reading fanfiction of video games..." I say awkwardly.
He chuckles sweetly. "I appreciate the honesty, I like video games myself!" He flashes me a goofy smile.
I feel my cheeks warm up and I blush, i cover my face and laugh into my hand.
"I actually was planning to go to college for game development, but my parents didn't support me and forbid me... Which made me so upset." He holds his hand out, gesturing what he says next.
"I just need someone to hold my hand through it, you know?" He said.
That was it. That was exactly what I needed to do.
I stood up violently, making the chair behind me fall backwards onto the floor. I leaned forward onto the table and yelled in his face.
"I'm sorry! I have to go!" I run out, run back in, grab my coffee, and run out once again.
I began running back to my house, tossing the cup of coffee into the garbage can.
As I ran, I couldn't stop thinking about Mike. He sat there, staring. He must've understood.
I made it to my house, sweaty and in pain, and immediately grabbed the keys and hopped in my car. I squealed out of the drive way and all the way to the pizzeria. I knew what I had to do.
