the members were gathered in the practice room, their faces glistening with sweat as they went through the motions of their latest choreography. the music thumped in the background, the rhythm driving their movements as they honed their skills and prepared for their comeback.

as they practiced, one member caught their attention — mizu. despite her usual charisma, her energy and enthusiasm seemed to be lacking during this particular choreography. the others noticed it too, and a sense of concern and frustration began to settle in. they exchanged glances, wondering what was causing her usual swagger to falter.

everyone finally took a break, panting and wiping the sweat from their foreheads. chan approached mizu with a serious expression. the other members watched discreetly, waiting to see how the situation would unfold.

chan placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, a sign of both concern and firmness. he took a deep breath before speaking, choosing his words carefully. "what's going on, miz?" he began, his voice steady. "you're usually a fast learner with these kind of choreography."

mizu, feeling the seriousness of her leader's tone, immediately became apologetic. she hung her head slightly, a hint of embarrassment on her face. "i'm really sorry, chan." she replied quietly, her voice laced with genuine regret. "i promise to do better."

chan's response to her apology was cut short by another member. minho stepped forward, a hint of protectiveness in his eyes. "it's okay." he said, a rare hint of warmth in his cold exterior. "today has been tiring and we all have off days."

chan was taken aback by the unexpected intervention. he looked at the minho, a mix of surprise and understanding in his gaze. "you're right, we all have off days. we can't be perfect all the time."

suddenly, hyunjin, standing a bit further back, couldn't resist chiming in. "you're only saying that because you have a soft spot for mizu." he said, pointing at minho. the others chuckled, some nodding in agreement.

mizu was bewildered by the situation. she spoke up, confusion written all over her face. "what do you mean? he's always like this." she asked, looking at the others.

minho nodded in assent, his face still the usual stoic mask. "mizu is absolutely right. you guys are overseeing things." he shot the others a warning glare, a silent signal for them to drop the topic.

despite the silent warning, hyunjin, perhaps oblivious or overly playful, couldn't help but push his luck. he continued to tease minho, a mischievous smile on his face. "there's nothing wrong with showing a bit of softness every now and then."

hyunjin continued his playful banter. "whenever someone else messes up, you're the first to give them a hard time. but when it's mizu, you suddenly get all soft and protective. it's adorable." he teased, the smirk on his face growing wider.

minho's eyes narrowed, a flicker of annoyance now joining the steely calm in his gaze. "one more word and i'll show you what a hard time really looks like." he responded coolly, his voice measured but firm. his warning hung heavy in the air, leaving no room for further teasing.

mizu spoke up, trying to defuse the situation. "it's okay, really!" she chuckles awkwardly, sensing the tension. "let's just focus on the choreography. we're all here to improve, right?"

despite the brief moment of tension, everyone quickly brushed off the disagreement and returned to their practice. bickering and arguments were not uncommon among them, and they had grown accustomed to it over time. in some ways, it was an integral part of how their relationship worked.

although minho would never openly admit it, deep down, he was aware of the fact that he had a soft spot for mizu. despite his cold and aloof demeanor, he found himself extra protective of her, often going out of his way to ensure their comfort and happiness.

everyone was well aware of minho's protective tendencies towards mizu. in fact, they couldn't blame him because they, too, would do the same in his shoes. they had all grown close to mizu and cared about her well-being just as much as minho did. it was simply part of their bond as a group, where they looked out for one another and supported each other through thick and thin.
