Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

The clock keeps on ticking on the wall and its machinery is one of the sounds that can be heard in Hyewon's office apart from her pen scribbling her notes with pure hatred, hard, deep, and fast strokes, as if she means to destroy every occurring page of her notepad. The ink has been wasted for a long time now and it seems to have smudged Hyewon's palm as well.

Her action calms down quickly after she hears the door swings open with Yongwoo walking out. Obviously, he already got a good seconds of glance of her aimlessly ruining her notepad with a pen, he understands how mad Hyewon is and can't do anything about it especially if she comes to know that he's also partially to blame. He walks right in front of Hyewon's table making her look at him for a good second, there must be a reason for him stopping in front of her since he doesn't need to if there's nothing to say. She waits for him to speak whilst pretending that she's doing something.

"I have something to attend to after going to court today." It seems like Yongwoo has spoken about his business however he remains standing in front of her table adding a little more curiosity for Hyewon.

"What?" She asks, getting impatient, sass still remains in her voice.

"I...I'm sorry." He voices out making her look up at him, unexpected words coming out from him. Although Hyewon is itching to ask why, she insists herself to let him talk. "The files you lost, it's not your fault. It was not lost in the first place because it was taken by Mr. Lee. I am genuinely sorry for pointing everything to you without thinking about it thoroughly and immediately jumping to conclusions."

"Woah! Do you think a crumpled paper will be neat again after you say sorry to it?! If that document is really that important to you, you should've been careful about it! You already hurt me by immediately lashing out and blaming it on me!" Yongwoo feels every word that comes out of her mouth, and the only thing he can do is to remain silent and press his lips together. "From now on, refrain from being too hasty and also start to appreciate when I decide to help you with your desk instead of getting grumpy about it!"

"That will not do, I have my own standards in messy and neat, so please do avoid touching things I don't tell you to. Keurom." Just as he said those words, he leaves the office after slightly nodding his head to her.

그럼 - Keu-rom, is 'then' in english. I considered using that in this story since using the direct English translation is a little off.

"Keurom?" Hyewon can't believe that she's dismissed like that. Her anger towards him hasn't even left and yet he already added a little more to it with just a few words. "Was that even an apology?"

•=============================•

"Hyewon-ssi, it's already six p.m. CEO Jeong and others are waiting for you in the lobby."

A welcoming party for her, something she hasn't experienced in the past years of being inactive in the line of her work. Hyewon was filled with joy when she heard the news of such an effort of celebration for a temporary employee of their law firm, still she's very grateful for celebrating.

As a celebrity, or was a celebrity from how people define her these days, she's obviously not allowed to be seen in public especially with a group of people around her as rumor travels faster than light. A reservation was made just to meet the conditions she requires in order to be with her co-workers. Upon stepping inside the room, it is fancy for the eyes, obviously some money is spent in order to book a room like this. Everyone is in awe, unable to believe that they are inside such an expensive place for a celebration.

"WOAH! You really did this for Hyewon?!"

"Yeah, Daepyonim. This place looks like it costs a lot of money." Hyewon seconded the words of the other secretary of their firm, Yoo-ah.
