It's just her third day at work but Hyewon is already considering quitting her job after the embarrassment that happened last night. She buries herself in the pillow, getting mad at how much she has embarrassed herself in front of everyone. She was wasted and as she woke up from her deep and comfortable slumber, her head pangs with stinging pain for some time while gradually recalling everything that has happened last night.
Hyewon screams in her pillow, unable to withstand the flood of memories, the other side of her, an unlikeable side that anyone barely knows. Adding more to her situation is how she's gonna go to work without facing everyone, she can't bear to face the consequences of her actions at all.
A knock from her door, a sudden sound that broke the silence in her room. She already knows the person behind the door and isn't ready to do anything, or even talk to him but she has no option since he already informed her that he's opening the door.
"How are you holding up?" A voice of concern from Jisung, peeking through the small gap on the door.
Hyewon jolts up from lying on her stomach, her back is facing him still as the memories of last night keeps eating her up.
"No..." She composes herself and looks at her manger who's on the door. "Can't I just take a day off? I don't think I can go to work because of what happened last night."
"Don't say that I didn't warn you. I already told you to consider your liquor limit but you disregard any of my words, and now look at you. Just go to work early so that no one will see you." Hyewon groans at his words realizing that she will face them, still.
•=============================•
Who would've thought that going early to her work will only make her situation worse?
As an attempt to avoid everyone at work, Hyewon forces herself to come an hour earlier than anyone, or that's what she thought. Upon her arrival at the firm, no one's on the information desk and the only thing she can tell is that no one's around considering that everything is quiet. She sighed with relief after thinking her luck is with her for today.
Her heel taps the versatile tiles causing the loud clacking from the contact, she was doing fine until she heard the sliding door open. She already knows she's busted and immediately increased her pace and walked towards her office only to be stopped by a voice that calls out to her.
"Hyewon-ssi, good morning!" Hyewon turns around with a smile on her face, a facade one to conceal the wave of embarrassment she's having at the moment. Her smile turns genuine when she sees the person who was not at the time of her accident however she is reminded of how she was acting last night on the table, heavily drunk.
Hyewon was about to be happy but seems like fate is punishing her. "Good morning to you too, Secretary Yang." She returned the greetings still with a fake smile on her face.
"Did you have fun last night?"
As she is about to answer the question that is dropped for her, the sliding door opens once more revealing Jinsol and Haeyoung walking together while having a chat.
"Oh, Kang Hyewon-ssi! You're here already. Are you okay now?" Jinsol asks, walking her way closer to her and stops beside Secretary Yang.
Hyewon's smile slowly crumbles into nothing, her smile's gone and she's trying her best to face them while starting to hate every second that passes by being exposed to everyone.
