I. Content (37/40 points)
1. Plot/Storyline (10/10 points)
Originality and creativity
The storyline was absolutely incredible! The concept of a detective and a criminal disguised as an artist, both having the same purpose "Uncovering the Truth", but on a different path is just awesome.

Engagement and interest
The prologue in itself was enough to make the reader dive inside the world of deception created by the author. The wonderful use of descriptions added onto this enticing experience.

Well-structured and coherent
The Story was very well structured. The paragraphs were neither too short nor too lengthy. They were of appropriate size and well managed. The use of Italics in the text when a backstory, flashback or dreams were told segregated the past and present very effectively as well as blended with each other greatly, making it easier for the readers to understand which indeed, was a fitting choice.

2. Character Development (9/10 points)
Believable and relatable characters
Victoria Blackwood's portrayal of a detective who doesn't let her resolve falter even in the grimmest situations and fights her way through for the justice is extremely good. Her fears and anxiety are the emotions which sets this book apart from others since, mostly the main characters are always shown perfect. This inturn made her character a very believable one since most of the readers would not be able to resonate with the daily events in her life.

Well-developed protagonist and antagonist
Both the protagonist and the antagonist are very well developed. The depiction and display of the emotions in their personality had me awe stricken. Dominic Gray was the character whose psychotic behavior was effectively conveyed to the readers. And the best part of al,l it is still unclear to the readers if Dominic is an antagonist or another huge power "The Prophecy" is behind everything.

Character growth and transformation
At this point there is no actual character growth or transformation. Therefore it is yet to come and I am definitely looking forward to it.

3. Themes and Messages (8/10 points)
Clear and impactful themes
Themes of betrayal, angsty, deception, deceit and truth are0 perfectly displayed.

Well-integrated messages
The blending of the themes truth and darkness was something that I liked the most. Nothing was out of place. It gave sufficient about both withwithout giving out too much. The only thing I would say you could work on is that every chapter had three to four lines about truth and darkness and it kept repeating everytime that might be a flaw that could wary out the readers.

Resonance with readers
Even though this kind of story hardly has any resemblance to the viewer's real life but the fun fact about this one is that the detailing is so perfect that it creates an impact on the readers hence, broadening the aspect of resonation with the readers.

4. World-building (10/10 points)
Immersive and detailed setting
The world building was excellently executed. This being said it was one of the most powerful point about the story. The detailed setting helped readers understand about the situations very clearly.

Well-developed culture and society
The societal development was good but could've been better. Overall it wasn't a problem but there is scope for improvement.

Consistency and logic
Logically if we speak about the story, there were parts that could feel odd and illogical to the some readers but those parts are explained later in the story which according to me makes sense as a genuine reader.

II. Writing Style (27/30 points)
1. Writing Quality (15/15 points)
Clarity and concision
The content was clear and concise. The pace was neither too rash nor too slow which added onto the clarity factor of the story. Alignment and length of the paragraphs was good as well.

Engaging and descriptive language
This was my most favourite thing about the book. The wonderful use of words and their play to form perfect phrases was just awesomely curated.

Grammar and mechanics
Grammar was exceptionally well. Talking about this, I'd like to tell you that there was not a  single grammatical error in the story and this is a rare quality of a book. The usage of the vocabulary and it's almost perfect execution was another wonderful trait about the story. The only suggestion I'd give you is that you've used some of the words excessively. Eg. Palpable and stark

Using alternatives for the above would greatly enhance the overall quality of grammar of the book.

2. Tone and Atmosphere (7/10 points)
Appropriate tone for the genre
The tone for thriller genre was perfect. Maybe a little more detailing could enhance it more. As for Dark  Romance genre there is no mention of it yet and im assuming more is yet to come.

Effective creation of atmosphere
The creation of tense atmospheres during situations like murder, solving mysteries etc. And the creative expression of the anxiety felt by the characters through words stood out really well.

Consistency throughout
The overall consistency of throughout the content was good. The arrangement and alignment as well as execution of the story was great.

3. Pacing and Tension (5/5 points)
Well-balanced pacing
As mentioned before, the pacing was highly accurate. The shift from one scene to other and one chapter to another was swift and well balanced.

Effective tension and suspense
The suspense built throughout the chapters was successfully executed which in turn kept the reader hooked instead of warying them out.

III. Technical Merit (27/30 points)
1. Editing and Proofreading (15/15 points)
Error-free writing
It seems that the author have taken great care before publishing the chapters as there in little to no errors in the whole content.

Consistency in formatting and style
The Consistency in formation and style is depicted through the swift shift from one chapter to another as well as in the scenes as well. Which as an author is a very strong point.

2. Organization and Structure (8/10 points)
Logical chapter and section organization
Names given to the chapters are quite appropriate and organization is not messy as well.

Effective use of transitions
As mentioned earlier, the transitions are very swift and doesn't feel out of place.

3. Cover Design and Illustrations (4/5 points)
Relevant and appealing cover design
The cover effectively conveys the vibe of the story attracting the audience and therefore turning out to be fruitful for the story.

Effective use of illustrations (if applicable)
Not applicable
