Three years after Pt. 1...

The dim light of dawn shone through Frisk's window, and the birds sung outside. Not being able to sleep, Frisk tried to think of what to do that day. After thinking for a while, they decided. After doing their hair and changing into their usual blue shirt with two purple stripes, they left their room and tiptoed into the living room.

They thought nobody else was awake, but they were startled to see Chara sitting at the counter in the cramped kitchen, eating from a bowl of cereal. Frisk pulled up a chair beside Chara, being able to see their friend from the light shining through the window.

"Hi, Chara," Frisk waved, "you're up early."

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep," Chara replied after swallowing a spoonful of cereal. "Ya know, Frisk, this cereal is better than those 'flakes' that Temmie gave us."

"Oh- yeah," Frisk chuckled, "I was never a huge fan of Temmie Flakes. But anyway, Chara, I was wondering if you wanted to go out later. Like, to a restaurant and for a walk."

"Like a date?"

Frisk had to look down to avoid Chara seeing their heavy blushing, "uh- well... kinda."

"Okay, that sounds fun," Chara smiled as they got up to put their cereal bowl in the sink, which was full of dirty dishes, "what time were you thinking, Frisk?"

"Maybe 17:00?" Frisk suggested.

"That'd be great. I can't wait! I even just got some money, so we can get some good food."

Chara reached over the back of Frisk's chair and hugged them before walking up the stairs to change out of their pajamas. As Frisk sat there alone, they were still blushing for some odd reason, even though Chara had left. In fact, ever since they met, they had always felt somewhat fluttery around Chara, even though they were best friends...

10 hours later...

As Sans sat on the couch watching YouTube, Frisk looked intensely into the living room's large wall mirror, hastily combing their hair and applying a bit of lipstick.

"Whatcha doin'?" Sans asked calmly.

"Oh- I'm getting ready to go out for a bit with Chara," Frisk answered.

"Do you need all that preparation? I mean..."

Frisk's heart skipped a beat; "well - I just thought... it'd be polite to look nice."

"Oh, totally," Sans said, "yeah. Looks good. Are you two goin' to Grillby's?"

"We thought about it, yeah."

"Cool. If you do, tell e'm I said hi."

"Sounds good," Frisk turned around to head upstairs, but stopped.

Chara was heading downstairs, with their hair perfectly combed, and their pale skin enhanced with makeup, and their striped shirt and brown pants were wrinkleless. They looked beautiful. Frisk couldn't take their eyes off of Chara.

"You - really.... Uh... look good," Frisk stammered.

"Thanks," Chara smiled, "so - you ready?"

Frisk didn't respond, lost in their daydreams.

"Frisk?" Sans called, "you ok, kid?"

"Huh? Yeah! Sorry," Frisk said with embarrassment.

Sans waved to the two as they left the house and walked down the street, the warm summertime air blowing against their skin. Cars zoomed by, and pigeons flew all around.

"Do you know where we should eat?" Frisk asked.

"How about Grillby's? I heard he lowered his prices a lot," Chara led Frisk across the road.

With every other step, the two's shoulders would gently brush together, and Frisk- for some reason- couldn't stop thinking about that, so they just nodded as the two turned toward Grillby's. When they got there, they sat down at a table, in a surprisingly quiet area of the restaurant, and ordered their food.

"Thanks for paying for dinner, Chara," Frisk said politely.

"No problem," Chara smiled, their beautiful eyes shining in the yellow light of the restaurant.

Just then, the waiter came and served their meals. After Frisk thanked him, he walked off. As Frisk began to eat their french fries, they felt warm inside. They were very happy to be here with their best friend.

"How is your food?" Frisk asked, trying to make small talk.

"Good," Chara replied as they finished eating some of their sandwhich. "The monsters can cook some pretty good food."

"Yeah, I think that'll be a good way to get humans to like them more."

"I wish some of the humans weren't so spiteful of monsters, even though you tried to tell them, and the war was very long ago."

"They just... don't listen sometimes."

"I would listen to you," Chara smiled, their rosy cheeks becoming more pronounced around their mouth.

Frisk blushed and began to eat their food again, Chara following suit. When they finished, Chara paid the cost for the meal and stood up. Frisk thanked Chara again, and they headed outside. It was colder now that the sun was starting to set over the horizon, casting a holy orange glow across the sky.

"Where should we go now?" said Frisk.

"I dunno. Maybe we should've made a plan before we left," Chara chuckled.

Frisk laughed, a huge grin on their face.

"How about the library?" they suggested.

"Okay, that sounds good," Chara chirped, turning the corner. "I have been wanting a new book to read."

The two entered the library and went to one of the shelves, crouching down beside each other and sifting through the books.

"Are you looking for a specific thing?" Frisk asked.

"No. Just seeing if I can find a hidden gem in here, you know?" Chara responded.

"Yeah," Frisk looked around the well-lit, spacious library as they chose a book off the shelf.

They eventually noticed a small area with two cushioned chairs and a few wooden tables. Once Chara found something to read, they asked; "hey Chara, you wanna go read over there?"

"Sure!" Chara stood up and walked with Frisk to the reading area.

Someone else had taken one of the chairs, so Chara and Frisk sat beside each other in the other, which luckily was quite large. However, they were still somewhat pressed against each other, and they both found that they had a hard time focusing on their books. Once Chara noticed the sun setting, they said they should go watch it.

So after checking out their books, Frisk and Chara sat on a hill above the beach. The sky was a magestic pink, and the vast ocean glittered in the light. Frisk looked over at Chara, and- they- looked gorgeous, with their shiny eyes and rosy cheeks accented by the sun.

"Pretty, huh?" Chara said with wonder.

"Yeah, it is," Frisk squirmed, "and..."

"And what?" Chara turned to Frisk.

Frisk, their stomach exploding with butterflies, took a deep breath; "listen, Chara... I - ever since we met, I've... had this feeling. I know we're best friends, but- I feel like we could be more than that. It's probably pretty obvious. I blush around you, I'm always fluttery when you're near. But now, Chara... I'm sorry if this is weird, but... I love you."

Chara's pale face turned red, and they looked shocked. After their face flushed back to normal, Chara smiled: "I love you too, Frisk."

With that, they leaned over and kissed Frisk on the lips. Frisk practically exploded with all kinds of feelings, but they kissed Chara back for a while before pulling away. As the sun began to fall completely behind the ocean, Frisk smiled, still blushing heavily: "so... how obvious was it... that I liked you?"

Chara laughed, "very obvious."
