TARM chapter 6-
"What are you talking about Ashley? Who's here?" I asked while standing up and grabbing the nearby robe then slipped it on. "Where's Annabella?" I asked while reaching for the lights.
"No don't!" She said quietly but sternly while gripping onto my hand. "We need to hide." She said while not letting go of my hand as she lead us over to my closet. "Hold him please." She said handing George to me then with shaky hands she moved back the clothes and started touching the wall. I was about to say something when she finally pushed on part of the wall causing a trap door to open.
"What the.." I trailed off not being able to find the words to describe my confusion. Ashley grabbed a hold of my arm and led me inside then quickly shut the door behind her. She lead me down many narrow hallways and stairways, it made me question how she knew where she was going. The whole thing looked like we were in a really old castle with swirly stairs and very dark lighting. Not to mention it was freezing.
We finally got down to a two way mirror and it was then I realized we were in the living room. After being confused for a moment as to how there was a two way mirror I remembered seeing a giant full length mirror in the living room that seemed more for decoration purposes than for making sure you looked okay.
"Oh..." I said more to myself than to anyone else.
"There's more around the house." Ashley said quietly while looking through the mirror. Just as I was about to say something to her people came rushing down the stairs with guns on their hands; I recognized one right away.
Gerald.
"Dammit!" Gerald yelled while lowering his weapon. "How did she get away so fast?" He asked then motioned someone to come near him with his hands. "Where did they go?" He asked looking up to the stairs. "You told them we were coming somehow, where did they go?" He asked and that's when Ashley and I saw Annabelle being dragged down the stairs by one of Gerald's men.
"Mo--" Ashley started to say but I quickly put my hand over her mouth and shook my head at her.
"I'm not telling you." Annabelle said calmly while reaching the bottom of the steps. "You're not finding her, ever. You may have taken out most of her family but she has other people helping." She said with a smug look in her face.
"Stupid bitch." Gerald said while slapping her across the face. Ashley struggled against my hand but remained still. "We get closer every single day; she'll be found and given to her rightful owner."
Annabelle spit in his face and tried to charge at him but was held back by some of Gerald's men. "This is why we ran! You treat her kind like shit!" Annabelle screamed.
My kind?
What was she talking about?
"Once he finds out what you've said about her you'll be dead." She finished.
Who's he?
Just as Gerald was about to say something back until the worst thing that could have possibly happen, happened.
George started to cry.
"Shit." I said at the same time Ashley said "Fuck."
"Where is that coming from?!" Gerald screamed while waving his gun in the air.
"Over there, it sounds like it's coming from the wall!" One of his men said and at that moment everyone was quiet and the only noise that could be heard was George crying.
"Ashley." I said while beginning to breathe heavily. "Run."
Everyone started to scream while charging for the wall that we were in, I don't know why they didn't use their guns since they were so dead set on hurting my family. Ashley and I ran down the narrow hallways as fast as we could and didn't look back one bit. It seemed like we were running forever when we finally reached stairs leading up to a door, I was hesitant to open it but Ashley seemed to feel comfortable with whatever was on the other side. She went up first then I came second to see that we were in a garage.
"We're in the garage?! That was the best plan Ashley? The garage next to the living room?!" I yelled like quickly closing the door then lead to the underground tunnels. I didn't know who would be coming through any second but I would sure as hell try to stall them.
"It's not the garage next door, do you think I'm stupid?!" She screamed back while grabbing the car keys off the wall. Doing the best with one arm since I was still holding George I starting moving large things onto the door.
"Katia come on! We need to go!" She said grabbing George from my arms and replaced my empty hands with the keys. We wasted no time getting into the car and driving through the shut locked garage door to get away.
I had no idea where it was but every time I came to either going right or left I went somewhere random, when I got close to the turns I would then make the decision to turn or not which caused the tires to squeal every now and then. George was still crying because of the jerking of the car and the noise of the tires, but Ashley was doing her best to comfort him.
I decided that after driving for two hours and passing many towns that it was time to pull over and sleep for the night. Luckily there was a nearby camping ground that had many trails you could choose to camp on, I choose a place that was in the middle of the whole camground. That way we weren't too far if we needed to make a quick escape but we also weren't too close to be seen.
"We're safe here for now. We'll pick up in the morning. You sleep and I'll stay awake just to be on the safe side." I said glancing over at Ashley then unbuckled my seat belt.
"This is your fault." She said quietly and it was then I noticed that she was crying.
"What?" I asked in disbelief.
"This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for you! You ruined my family!" She whispered harshly but still trying to keep her voice down since George was finally asleep. "I should have just given you to them." She spat.
I sat there in silence for what seemed like a whole minute, a very long minute until I realized something.
I've had enough.
