Sergio’s POV
“Sir.” The lead private investigator said clearing is throat while looking anywhere but me as I sat in my office chair staring intensely at him. “We have information on Katia and her whereabouts.” He said taking a deep breath before finally looking at me.
“Whereabouts.” I stated in my thick Russian accent while leaning back into my chair and put my hands behind my head. “That sounds an awful lot like she’s not here.” I said watching as he started shifting on his feet. “And…” I began while slowly starting to stand up from my chair. “I thought I said to not come back into this office until you had her!” I yelled slamming my hand down on the desk, putting a crack in it in the process.
“Alpha I’m sorry.” He said quickly bowing his head but that only made me angrier.
“You’re sorry?” I asked shoving everything off of the desk and let out a growl. “You are supposed to be the best at this. You said that your team would find her in weeks. It has been years and she is still not here!” I screamed and with that I shifted. It didn’t take much nowadays because I’ve gotten so irritable each day I’ve been getting bad news.
“I’m so sorry Alpha but we have--.” He started but I didn’t let him finish before I charged at him, not intending to hurt him but just to scare him. We have been too nice to these people over the years and it was time to let him know that I’m not going to be Mr. Patient anymore.
“Enough!” I heard my father called, whipping my head over to the door I saw him standing there with his arms crossed. “Martin please tell my son why he should not rip you to shreds. I told you to lead with that first.” He said taking his seat in a chair nearby.
“Right.” He said nodding then frantically wiped his sweaty forehead with a tissue that was in his jacket. “I know you are frustrated that we have not got her yet but my team is making progress. We are getting closer each day and we will soon finally capture her and bring her home.” He said then jumped when I let out another growl letting him now to get on with it. “We caught her father.” He said and with that I immediately shifted back.
“Where is he?” I said walking over to the closet and pulled out a robe them put it on.
“He’s being transported back as we speak. We found him a few hours away from the boarder of Wyoming, we think they were just passing through Utah and not intending to stay.” He said putting his hands into his pockets.
“Katia?” I asked sitting down and rubbed the back of my neck.
“I’m sorry sir.” He started and took a step forward. “We had someone new on the team today and it wasn’t my call I swear. But he saw her but couldn’t tell if it was her for sure and froze but he—“ he didn’t get to finish because at that point his neck was snapped and he was lying on the ground.
“Sergio, was that necessary to do in the office?” my father asked while lighting a cigarette.
“Its better than what you had planned for him.” I said then pounded on the door signaling one of my men to come in to take him away. “What are we going to do? They could have had her, those idiots!” I yelled while throwing all the books from the book shelf on the floor. “They were so close!” I screamed.
“I know son.” My father said while putting his hand on my shoulder to calm me down. “Which is why I’ve been having someone else look at the case.” He said then turned around and walked towards a window to open it. “How do you think those stupid humans knew where they were going?” he asked only for me to growl.
“Watch it father, I will not hesitate to punish you.” I said glaring at him with my deep blue eyes. He knew that Katia was human but that never stopped him from insulting the race like it was no big deal.
