Solar hadn't blinked sleep since—God knows when.
The clock had already struck four in the morning. It wasn't unusual for him to stay awake for experiments or work, but today was different. It had been a while since Duri had left the house.
He knew his brother would call if anything happened, just like he promised before suddenly leaving without much explanation. But still! He hadn't come back!
It wasn't that Solar didn't trust Duri, he just believed it was better to be safe than sorry. So he tried calling his twin.
As expected, the call went straight to voicemail. He tried again, but there was no answer. Solar forced himself to think positively, considering all the possible things Duri could be doing at four in the morning.
Club? Out of the question. He trusted his brother wouldn't do something like that. Despite trying to stay optimistic, his thoughts kept veering toward the negative. Not much could be done at this hour.
Unable to sit still, he went to the living room, pacing back and forth. Sleep? Definitely impossible with all the worries racing through his mind.
"Should I call Gempa?" he muttered to himself, fingers on his chin as he circled the living space.
But he didn't want to bother his brother, who might still be on a mission.
He considered Halilintar next, but he hadn't seen him all day. Not that it worried him too much—Hali could take care of himself.
That left Ais and Aze. But again, he didn't want to interrupt their fun. They were up in the mountains, too far away to come back quickly.
He sighed. "I guess I have to do this like the old times."
Solar had learned long ago not to take on everything by himself, having faced the consequences of doing so. Over time, he'd come to rely on others. But sometimes, those old habits of doing everything alone resurfaced. His confidence made him believe he could handle anything.
But this time, it wasn't about him.
What mattered was that Duri hadn't replied to his messages, hadn't answered his calls, and hadn't even told him where he was—and it was already four in the morning!
So Solar decided he was going to handle this his own way.
He went to his room, grabbed his laptop, and returned to the living room. Sitting at the dining table, his fingers immediately started typing, pulling up all the resources he could to locate his brother. The same method he used when Taufan had gone missing.
Fortunately, they never really took off their power watches, making it much easier to find Duri's location. It would be a different story if he wasn't wearing it.
"Alright," he muttered as he watched the screen load. After a few seconds, a map appeared, showing the exact location.
Solar frowned, rubbing his eyes and blinking a few times to make sure what he saw was real and not just a product of sleep deprivation. He couldn't help but question it, given the hour and his lack of sleep.
