To you, it doesn't matter how many times you've had surgery done, it can still be scary to some.
Although this one was a simple procedure, you still can't help but feel a little scared. You and Taylor were in a hospital room,as you're being prepped for surgery.
You were lying in a hospital bed, throat throbbing. You were getting your tonsils out and despite the pain you're in, you can't help but to only worry, you just wanted them out already. It was easy to tell Taylor was trying to hide the fact that she's just as nervous as you, but trying to mask it as to not make you even more nervous. As Taylor continues to pace around the room, you reached out your arms, trying to get her attention. Taylor turns, seeing that you want her. You move over on your bed so she could slide behind you. She lies down, moving you so that you were in her arms.
Despite the worry, you didn't want her to be just as much worried and decided it was your turn to comfort her.
"Taylor, I'm going to be okay. They're only taking my tonsils out and it's not a complicated procedure."
Taylor doesn't say anything at first.
"Taylor, please say something."
It takes Taylor a moment to think of what to say.
"Yes, I know. I just want to make sure that you know it's going to be okay."
"I know, Taylor. I know. But it's easy for anyone to tell I'm a little nervous about it anyway."
Taylor really does know her way around words and ideas,
"I know. Everything will be okay, you took the medicine as instructed this time, they aren't going to make you wait any longer. Just think about it, (Y/n). Once you wake up, and when we go home, we will stop at Cracker Barrel on the way home and we can get something from their little country store."
You couldn't help but smile at that.
Cracker Barrel was your favorite restaurant and since you had to go for two days without food for this surgery, it was going to be a real treat for you.
Not to mention the fact on how much you loved their country store. As you were in the midst of talking, the doctor had come in to wheel you in the OR and you can't help but feel nervous all over again, letting a few tears slip. When that was noticed by the doctor, she looks to Taylor and offers her a spot in the OR to be with you until you fall asleep.
"Promise me you'll be there when I wake up?" you ask.
"I promise." Taylor says.
Just after waking up, you forgot where you were for a minute, until you were reminded from the sounds of the machines beeping.
The surgery was successful, and despite your sore throat, you still wanted to stop and eat before going home. You were just glad it's all over, and now you can go home. Taylor will be taking care of you, and she's phenomenal at that. You really couldn't ask for better. Taylor takes really good care of you. Once you got home, she lead the way to your shared bedroom, and helped you prepare for bed as she wanted you to get some rest.
You wanted to be stubborn about it, but as long as it meant Taylor would snuggle up with you, than you wouldn't hesitate to comply.
