Taylor wasn't supposed to know, not yet at least.
You were Taylor's younger sister, best friends with Olivia Rodrigo. Only Olivia knows and you were planning on telling Taylor the big news before eventually telling your parents.
The big news was that you were pregnant. You and your boyfriend were expecting, and given your age, most would likely look down on you for that. You were only eighteen, but you know plenty of girls that share the same age that are expecting or suspecting they are expecting. It was a Friday night, you were hanging out with Olivia at your place, watching a movie together in your room as the rest of the house was absent. Although it was a movie you both had been wanting to see, you couldn't focus on it. You were more focused on how you were going to break the news to Taylor when she gets home from tour. You soon begin to fidget with your fingers and everyone knows that when you do that, it's only when you have something heavy on your mind. Taylor and Liv knew that better than anyone.
Liv makes it a reminder that she knew as her eyes suddenly flicker from the screen to you, down to your hands.
She doesn't hesitate to ask.
"What's up?"
"What do you mean?"
"Come on, don't give me that. What are you thinking about?"
"Just... I don't know how I'm going to tell her."
Upon hearing that, Liv pauses the movie before continuing to listen to you.
Once the tea is spilled, Liv gets an idea.
"Do you have a laptop?"
"Taylor does. It's on her bed."
Having said that, Liv gets up and leaves your room to retrieve the laptop.
When she returns, she joins you back on your bed and searches google for the answers. You both do your research and find your answers from there, but that doesn't help you feel any less nervous. After deciding what to do, you both make a big mistake, by not clearing your search history on Taylor's laptop before putting it back.
Fast forward a few weeks later, Taylor is done with her world tour and you're picking her up from the airport. You don't bring it up even in the car, still too nervous. However, you never have to voice the truth until later that same night when Taylor logs onto her laptop after taking her shower. At first, she can't believe what's on her screen: "How to tell your sister you're pregnant" while scrolling through the same ideas you and Liv went through. When she finished looking through everything, she texts you to come into her room, and you do.
"What's up?" you say.
Before saying anything, Taylor flips her laptop around and shows you what she found.
Your face begins to heat up with embarrassment, and something else you couldn't identify quite yet.
"What's all this?"
"Oh.. um.."
You couldn't muster the right words, but you came up with two.
"The truth."
You expected a far different reaction from Taylor than from the one you're getting. Instead of angry or disappointed like you had thought, she was over the moon excited.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't know how. I was trying to decide how I would tell you before I did because..." your voice trailed off, unsure of what else to say.
"You thought I'd be upset?"
You nod.
"How could I be? You're my sister and you're having a baby. Does mom and dad know?"
"No. Just you and Liv."
"Well, they have to know, (Y/n)."
"I know, I wanted to tell you first."
"Well, now we can tell them together! Let's go!"
Taylor doesn't give you any choice but to follow her out as she takes your hand in hers before stepping out of the bedroom.
Everyone shared the same reaction, telling everyone soon became a breeze.
Everyone was happy, and happy for you.
That's all you could have asked for.
