Taylor really never meant to snap at you, she was just coming home from a bad day and you were unaware of it, being taken back by complete surprise when she mistakenly took it out on you.Although it was still considered an early start of your new relationship, you felt it was the right timing to have her meet your friends. After dating for six months, Taylor asked you to move in with her, and you agreed. Going back to the two months into your relationship, Taylor was introduced to your family as you were to hers.
Without considering to ask Taylor about it first, you were already making plans with your friends to meet her when she came inside your shared home. Taylor didn't give her usual greeting, and you didn't notice until after the way you greeted her, not asking about how her day was like you usually would. You were sitting on the couch, phone in hand not even looking up when Taylor came home, you just say the first thing in mind.
"Do you wanna go out tonight?"
Taylor was a bit taken aback, than felt annoyed for not feeling in the mood to go out.
But she pressed on with questions before letting the emotions get the better of her.
"What did you have in mind?" Taylor's tone of voice had changed, but you don't pick up on that right away.
"Well, I've been talking to some of my friends and they would love to meet you-"
Taylor instantly got the wrong impression and couldn't hold back anymore, letting her emotions out on you by mistake.
"Oh! Save it, (Y/n)! Why would you want to do that? So you can show me off to your friends?"
The answer came as a shock to you, her words sounding rather harsh as she started walking away from you. You quickly follow her, stopping her halfway up the stairs.
"When have I said that?" she looked at you, and shook her head; realizing her mistake.
"What is wrong with you?" you press.
You watch as Taylor slowly walking towards you, putting a hand on your shoulder just before pulling you in a warm embrace.
Wrapping you up in a hug, the kind where she rocked your bodies gently before pulling away and taking you with her to your shared bedroom.
"I'm sorry, honey. It's just today wasn't in my favor and I just wanted to come home and be with you."
"It's okay." you try to say, but she wouldn't let you.
"No. No it's not okay, (Y/n). I took it out on you when I shouldn't have. Don't say it's okay. Don't lie to yourself."
You didn't know what to say at first, but when you did, it had come to you as the best way to quickly resolve things in the current situation and the both of you could leave this little rough patch behind in the past.
"Really, Taylor. I understand. How about instead of going out, we have a night at home, just the two of us and we can go out another night?"
"I love the sound of that, but what about meeting your friends?"
"We can arrange it for another time. Besides, I really missed you today."
Taylor couldn't help but smile and shake her head as your small frame embraces her for the second time. Though as lucky as she felt, she still couldn't help but feel that pang of guilt about snapping at you and tries to apologize again.
"I'm really sorry about earlier-"
"No really, Taylor. It's okay."
"But-"
"I mean it. Don't apologize. If you do, I'll kick you out of this house."
"You mean my house?"
You glare at her playfully and tease right back.
"Try that again." you challenge.
"You mean our house?"
That caught you off guard for a second, but the second you caught on, you only continued to play along; with a teasing smile.
"Exactly."
