Of course the first thing I thought of when I opened my eyes was Max.
I seriously needed to drown out these thoughts...

I got up from my bed, heading into the bathroom. I went over to the cabinet under the sink and opened it.
I looked around before quickly realizing that my bottle of whiskey was missing.

Where the fuck did that go?

I sighed, closing the cabinet. I went back into my bedroom, throwing on some clothes before going downstairs.

I went into the kitchen and began looking through the cupboards, trying to find any kind of alcohol to drown out my thoughts.
As I was looking around the kitchen my phone began buzzing in my pocket.

I pulled it out, flipping it open and putting it to my ear without checking the name on the screen.
"Hello?"

"Hey Brad."

I instantly froze, stopping what I was doing.

Max was the last person I needed to be talking to right now.
Now I definitely needed a drink.

I went back to searching through the cupboards while still on the phone to Max. "Oh, hey. What's up?"

"I'm just calling to ask if we finished that project that's due tomorrow? Because I honestly can't remember."

I froze once again. "Fuck..." I said just above a whisper, cursing myself at the realization we hadn't yet finished it.

"I'm taking that as a no...should I come to your dorm then?"

I shut my eyes, pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration. "Yeah, yeah...come over."

I then flipped my phone shut, putting it into my pocket with a sigh.

Great.

I went back to looking through the cupboards, when I found a small bottle of vodka. I shrugged then downed it on the way back to my room.

Don't get me wrong, I liked hanging out with Max. But not when I was trying to get him off of my mind.

I pulled my backpack from the ground, putting it onto my desk. I began pulling the materials out we'd be needing and the part of the project I'd already done.

Ten minutes after I finished getting everything out that I would need, Max walked through my door.

I turned to him. "...did you just walk through the house?"

"Uh, yeah."

I stared at him in disbelief. "Half of the gammas are in the living room."

He smiled slightly, walking over to my bed and putting his backpack down on it. "Dude, it's fine. I just told them that we've got a project together...which we do."

I opened my mouth to argue but closed it again when I realized that I couldn't really argue with that. I mean, I guess no one would think much of it if we're seen together one time.

"They talked to you?" I asked.

"Yeah because they were pretty confused when I just walked through the door - said you would flip if you knew I was here." He said with a chuckle. "Then I told them I was here to work on an assignment with you and they just went back to what they were doing." He shrugged.

"Unfortunate that they didn't kick you out, thought I'd trained them better." I joked.

"Hey! Without me you wouldn't even have remembered this assignment."

"Mhm. Whatever Goof." I said before sitting down at my desk.

We worked all throughout the day till it was dark outside. My desk was now littered in paper and coffee mugs.
I looked over at Max who had paper sheets all over my bed.
I turned back to my desk, continuing to work till a sudden realization hit me.
