The Gerudo Desert was close yet far at the same time. Cause I was riding Anubis I had to ride around the rocky terrain that separated the desert from the rest of Hyrule. Anubis seemed excited almost as we neared the desert. I got to the stable and rested in the shade waiting for nightfall. I had been traveling at night rather than day. When I tried to leave him at the stable, he kept jumping the fence and walking up next to me. After trying three more times I gave up. Walking with Anubis I came to the edge of the sand. I checked over the ore I had saved and hoped a smith in the Gerudo city could repair the rapier. I was miserable whenever the sun started to rise, But I made do. Luckly as the sun was rising on the fifth day of my trip I arrived at the Oasis. Leaving Anubis under a tree I entered the inn and bought a bed to sleep. Once night fell, I bought some blistering heat resistance potions and made my way out to the City of Women.
Once at the front gate I asked if it was ok for my horse to enter the city even though he was male. The guards were surprised to see a horse in the desert but agreed to let him in. Keeping him tied up near some water and a low hanging tree, I walked over to the gem lady. She greeted me warmly and light up at the sight of all the gems I wanted to sell. I asked if she could carve two of the rubies into specific shapes for the sword I was trying to restore. She happily agreed. Once I left the shop I went over to the smith. She took a sharp breath in at the sight of the sword in my hands. When I told her how I came across it and agreed to restore the blade. I handed her all the ore I had, and she happily got to work. I left the smithery after getting an ETA on my blade. She said it would take about three months to complete, due to the wear and tear it received. As I looked around, I heard a rich female's voice speaking with another. There at the western gate was Urbosa. She was talking with a few warriors.
"What a strange phenomenon? Vah Naboris suddenly stilling? It has been this way for a few days." She was much prettier in person. Her skin was a soft chocolate brown, her hair a bright ruby red. Her gold armor complimented her. Blue was really her color. Walking closer I spoke up shyly.
"Hello there, I heard you were talking about Vah Naboris." She turned to look at me upon hearing my voice. She smiled and greeted me with vigor.
"Vasaaq little one. Yes, for some reason Vah Naboris has stilled her path near the city since two days ago. We can't figure out the reason. She won't listen to me either." I nodded and asked if I could join her onboard. She agreed and we made our way out to Vah Naboris, and along the way she asked why I wanted to visit the Divine Beast.
"Oh well I visited both Vah Medoh and Rudania and they did the same thing when I got close to their locations." She smiled and nodded with a laugh.
"Oh, then I guess Vah Naboris came to greet you." I blushed and nodded. She helped me up the legs of Vah Naboris. Once in the main area Naboris started moving again. Urbosa laughed when she felt Naboris move saying that she was 'kidnapping' me into the desert. I laughed amused. While exploring I found a room hidden at the base of Naboris's neck which would be perfect for the MRC. After taking the photos I asked if any of the warriors were willing to take the slate to the Sheikah labs. She nodded and led me back to the city were many of the warriors offered to take the slate.
Flustered at their open willingness I couldn't help blushing. The warriors relentlessly teased me when they realized I was affected by them. Finally, one named Nala took the slate and said she'd be back in a week or two as she was traveling on foot. I offered to let her borrow Anubis to help her as he was a big horse. And as the desert is not built to feed a horse this option was best for him. Nala thanked me and after getting her settled on Anubis and told him his mission they were off. Urbosa offered to shelter me in her home for my stay here as Vah Naboris clearly loved me.
While I waited for my rapier to get restored, I got to training in sword fighting. When Urbosa saw I was checking in on the swordsmith she offered to train me to be able to handle wielding it. We were training together every day mostly at night after I passed out from overheating. Urbosa and I got closer as friends. I slowly fell in love with her. After being there for two months I gave her a necklace with one of my head scales as its center. She loved it and the next day I saw her wearing it and showing it to everyone. Finally, my rapier was finished. Holding it in my hands I felt the heat it emanated had increased but was still pleasant. The beautiful sword gleamed with the desert sun's rays. I spent a few days practicing with my newly gained weapon before I got ready to leave. I thought of confessing to Urbosa but kept it inside. Until the calamity was over, I didn't want to cause unnecessary drama. The rubies were fitted to the handle but the center one disintegrated when placed. I figured as this sword was not a normal one it needed a specific stone. I figured I'd look into that later. Nala had also returned with Anubis, and I thanked her for delivering the slate and caring for my horse. Finally, I left the sands of the desert and headed to the cool waters of the Zora Domain.
