A month later...
Paimon floated into Lumine's room from the kitchen, jingling a small bell very loudly. Lumine covered her head with her pillow. It was freezing cold outside, and Lumine didn't want to get out of the warmth of her bed. But Paimon kept persisting. Finally, Lumine gave up. She tried throwing the pillow at Paimon, narrowly missing.
"Paimon! What are you doing! It's so loud..." Lumine grumbled, sitting up slowly, "besides...it's so cold right now...
Lumine rubbed her eyes, and noticed Paimon's excited expression. She didn't seem tired or cold at all. Lumine got out from bed and yawned.
"What day is it?"
Paimon grinned.
"December 25th!"
Lumine stretched.
"Why is it so special that you have to-Oh!"
The moment she realized, Lumine quickly slipped into her fuzzy slippers, went into her bathroom, and came out wearing her usual attire. She then wrapped herself in a thick fur coat, her expression priceless.
As she went outside (on an empty stomach, she was so excited that she forgot to get breakfast), she was humming a tune from another world that was stuck in her head.
"Jingle bells~" She smiled while walking through the snow-covered wonderland.
The bitter cold stung her face, and her breath was like a thick cloud. Deep footprints trailed behind her. She greeted a few merchants, shop-owners, and children on the way to Nahida's sanctuary.
"Hey-" Paimon shouted, a small snowflake almost choking her, "blergh- ahem, Lumine! Wait for me!"
Lumine laughed, a let Paimon catch up. Paimon's eyes glimmered from both the reflective snow and the yummy treats people are selling.
"Paimon, have you ever had gingerbread before?" Lumine asked, looking forward.
Paimon raised her eyebrow.
"Nope. Never even heard of it before."
Lumine had expected this. She was well-aware that Teyvat was very different from the other worlds she'd been to.
"That's fine. I'll make some for you when we get back."
Soon, they reached the large sanctuary. The doors were already wide open when they approached, so they didn't even have to knock.
Lumine's eyes sparkled at all the dazzling lights that were set up in the ginormous room. Little blue, red, green, and white lights flashing like blinking eyes. They were all in the shapes of snowflakes, and draped around the whole sanctuary.
"Nahida, you did all this?" Lumine asked, in awe.
Nahida nodded, then looked at Wanderer, who was sitting next to her.
"With the help of Wanderer. Two pairs of hands are almost always better than one."
Wanderer crossed his arms.
"Yeah. It was because of me that these lights are all hanging here today." Wanderer gave them a prideful grin.
Nahida nodded.
"Nicely done."
After having a conversation about snow, they four headed outdoors. Wanderer smiled mischievously, and sent a tiny windblade that slammed into Paimon's back, sending her tumbling into a pile of snow.
"HEY!" Came Paimon's muffled scream under all that snow.
Paimon quickly plucked herself out, patting some snow off her clothes.
Lumine sent a little wave of Electro towards Wanderer, and momentarily stunned him.
"I'll get you back for that!" Wanderer pretended to look angry.
As soon as Wanderer was "un-shocked", he made an arm full of snowballs, used Anemo(wind) to smush them all into one massive snowball, and hurled it towards Lumine. She got knocked off her feet, and laughed as she got back up.
Lumine used her own Anemo to blow a bunch of loose snow at Wanderer, and one smacked accrossed his cheek, leaving a small red mark. Wanderer stumbled down. Lumine quickly rushed over to his side, checking for injuries.
She lifted his chin up, and for a second, he looked hurt. But the next, Wanderer was laughing. He had seized the moment Lumine was off-guard, and had sent her flying straight into a tree, and when she slid down, the snow that was caught in the tree's branches landed on top of her, completely covering her up.
"Mmph, mmf mm, mph!" Came an indistinct Lumine's voice.
Paimon dug through the snow, and pulled Lumine up. They made an alliance against Wanderer. Wanderer mocked anger.
"Hey! That's not fair-"
He was interrupted by snowballs flying at him from two different sources. He ducked, dodged, jumped, and tried to fly, but got knocked out of the air, and was sent tumbling down a small slope. After he landed, he was covered in snow from head to toe, and for a moment, deadly silence. The next, he burst out laughing, and so did Paimon and Lumine. Their stomachs ached from laughing, but that didn't stop them.
Nahida watched as the scene unfolded on her little swing. Her eyes were full of hope and wish, but she didn't join them. She just watched like a good mother would to her children.
It was all fun and games until Paimon accidentally sent a snowball at Nahida, and Lumine's jaw dropped as the snowball hit Nahida in the face, and she fell off her swing. Lumine rushed over to check Nahida's condition. Wanderer stopped and looked over too.
"Oh, my goodness. Nahida, are you okay?!" Lumine helped Nahida back up.
Nahida wiped the snow off her face, it leaving a trail of stinging coldness.
But instead of replying, she just laughed.
"Okay?" Nahida laughed, "I'm more than okay! Can I join? I've never participated in leisurely mortal activities before."
Lumine nodded eagerly.
"Just don't use any of your special archon abilites-otherwise, we'd be obliterated!" Lumine laughed.
Wanderer, seeing that Nahida's alright, let out a breath, and laughed too.
"Who knew that an archon would like to join in on such trivial mortal things..."
