Wanderer charged at the Aranara, and they both disappeared from sight as soon as they chased each other out the door.
Lunchtime, Wanderer surprised all of them by making stew.
"Wanderer?" Lumine poked her head into the kitchen, "Are you...cooking?!"
Wanderer just rolled his eyes.
"What? Just because I'm a puppet, I can't cook?"
"N-no, it's just...so unexpected from someone like you!"
"Someone like me? Do tell, what type of person is me?"
"Well, definitely not the type of person to cook vegetable stew."
Wanderer paused, and smirked. He turned around and winked at Lumine. Her jaw dropped. Since when-nevermind.
"Don't worry, I'll be sure to make this stew extra-special for you, you picky eater."
Paimon's eyes lit up at the sight of stew. Even though she never liked vegetable stew, she still seemed to want to gobble up the whole bowl.
As Lumine took a cautious bite, acutely aware of the fact that Wanderer could've done anything to the stew. She continued to eat because Nahida seemed to have no problem eating it.
"Hey uh, what did you do to the Aranara?" Lumine asked, placing the spoon-full of stew into her mouth.
Instead of replying, Wanderer just looked down at his bowl of vegetable stew. Suddenly, Lumine felt sick. She didn't want to eat the stew anymore.
"Wait, no, WANDERER! YOU DID NOT COOK THE ARANARA!" Lumine exclaimed, dropping the spoon. It clattered onto the ground.
"Why not? It looked tasty."
Even Paimon looked like she was going to barf.
"WANDERER!" Paimon screamed, and nearly fell out of her seat. However, Nahida remained uncannily calm.
Wanderer took one look at their expressions and burst out laughing. Nahida seemed to be holding back laughter as well.
"Your expressions! They're priceless!" Wanderer laughed, "no, to your benefit, I did not murder the Aranara, I used mushrooms I found in the forest. Otherwise, Lesser Lord Kusanali here-" he glanced at Nahida, "-might murder me."
Nahida gave him the stink eye, but nodded.
"Thankfully, the stew is still safe to eat. Erm, Paimon?" Nahida said, then raised an eyebrow at Paimon's expression.
Paimon's mouth was bigger than an apple, and her eyes were practically bulging out. It appears that she can't get over the fact that Wanderer might've put Aranara into the stew.
Lumine shrugged and continued digging in, now savoring the stew to the last bit. Just as she was about to thank Wanderer for the meal, however, an overpowering dizziness washed over her, blurring out everything else. She could feel herself falling out of her chair, and soon, everything went black.
