"Well, would you rather live in this darkness all by yourself? Or have me help you light the candle?" Lumine said anxiously.
"I'd rather not be betrayed again. I'd rather live in the darkness for eternity rather than be pushed even deeper into the abyss." Wanderer gritted his teeth so hard he was afraid they might break.
"Hey, uh, guys? Paimon's thinks-" Paimon started.
"Shut it, Paimon!" Wanderer shouted, "You don't want to be involved in something you're not a part of."
Lumine took a step towards Wanderer. Wanderer took a step away from her. He sighed and shook his head.
"How many times do I have to tell you, you delusional mortal, I don't need help."
But Lumine just hesitated and took a step back. She knew that she couldn't force anyone to do anything, but deep down, she really just wanted to help. She didn't want to see Wanderer continue to suffer through his past, when there could be a perfectly happy future. She didn't understand, why couldn't Wanderer see this opportunity?
Wanderer breathed a sigh of relief as Lumine took a step back. This woman really need to know what "personal space" means. At the same time, he couldn't help but feel a small string being tugged in his heart after declining her offer.
