Cadence had been at the bar for what felt like hours, her head leaning against the table as she recovered from the shot she had gulped down.

"Pour another one please," She begged and Cami approached the girl holding a bottle of bourbon.

"Unless your plan is to blackout, I think I should cut you off," She complained and watched Cadence raise her head to meet her gaze.

"Need I remind you, as the manager of this fine establishment, I'm technically your boss," She retorted and Cami smiled in amusement.

"Need I remind you, you're off the clock," Cami teased, earning the slightest of smirks from Cadence.

"I've had a rough couple months, cut me some leniency," Cadence pleaded as she reached to grab the bottle Cami held, "I deserve this."

Cami sighed, a part of her reluctant to agree. The girl was relentless, however, and Cami knew better. She released her grip on it, sighing as Cadence poured herself another shot.

The sound of the seat beside her creaking, Cadence turned to face them. She groaned dramatically, finding Kaleb to be occupying it.

"I thought I told you to stay out of my sight," She snapped coldly and the male witch shrugged.

"I've never been one to do what I was told," Kaleb replied in a teasing manner, "Just ask my family."

"No need, I bet they're cheeky, insufferable little shits like you," Cadence retorted and Kaleb only smiled, finding her to be correct.

"Not as charming and good looking though," He was sure to point out and felt satisfied by the look she gave him.

Cadence reached over the bar, grabbing an empty shot glass. She slid it toward Kaleb, smiling slightly. "Care to join?"

Kaleb looked torn, much to Cadence's amusement. "I prefer my bourbon in a glass," He told her, making a disgusted look at the shot.

"What? Too much of a wimp?" She teased and filled both of the shot glasses.

Cadence chuckled and grabbed his shot. She inhaled sharply before doing it in one gulp. She groaned as her throat burned, just as the last few. She hated the taste of alcohol but loved being drunk. It was worth suffering the sickness felt as the alcohol first went down her throat.

She lifted her head proudly and reached for hers next. "It helps you get drunk quicker," She admitted and gulped the next shot down.

She winced as she slammed the glass down on the table, awkwardly coughing.

"Yes, at the price of sickness," Kaleb joked, amused by how she seemed to turn green.

"Take the shot," She encouraged as she filled the two once more, "If you do, I'll take back my threat."
