It was nighttime and the twins with Cami, Cadence found herself across the river at Marcel's. Josh had insisted she come, claiming she'd go nuts if she didn't have some fun. She was a twenty-two year old woman, after all. If she hadn't been a mother and had the life she did, he felt as though she would've been partying at her age as most did during their twenties.

It didn't help the entire time he was supposed to be helping her have fun, he was too busy on his phone.

Cadence found herself watching the young man, a part of her amused by how entranced he was. "You told me to come so you could show me some fun and yet, you're over here on dating sites," She explained and yanked the phone from him, "Anyone hot?"

"There's one guy," Josh shrugged and Cadence laughed as he yanked the phone back, "We've only be texting but I think I like him. Like really like him."

"Then go for it!" She encouraged him excitedly and slapped him on the back.

"I think we're forgetting what I am," He reminded her and Cadence smiled in amusement.

"Vampire sex is amazing," She teased and Josh shot her an annoyed look, "You'll blow his mind so good, the fact you drink blood to survive won't even register."

"I don't think that's how it works," Josh complained and gave her a disgusted look, "And what would you know about vampire sex?"

"More than you could know, Josh," She chuckled and as her eyes darted toward Marcel from across the room.

Quick to understand, Josh groaned in disgust. "I did not need to know that."

"Well, now you do, pal," She teased him as both chuckled.

Josh smiled for a moment before it faded, a part of him feeling uneasy. "Is it hard? You know, to find someone when you're not human," He questioned and Cadence sent him a soft smile.

"I wish I had the answer for you but I've never had to do it. I've always been with people who know what I am," She explained in a calm tone, "But you know, I think if they're the right one, they'll understand. And if they don't, you can always compel them to forget. But I think you should go for it. You only live once."

The windows shattered as a dead vampire was thrown through, Cadence shot up from her seat. "I thought I smelled wet dog in the air," She groaned in annoyance as she watched numerous men walk in, "These people are really starting to get on my nerves. To think I had children with one."
