All four huddled against the walls of the saloon, Sicily keeps regretting her decision to come. She clenches her eyes shut and her first create crescent marks into her palms. She wishes she had a gun.
Two men can be heard outside, the sound of a truck door closing and heavy footsteps follow their worried voices.
"Dave? Tony?" Sicily mutters a number of curse word, all including "fuck"
"Im telling you man i heard shots."
"I saw roamers. Two streets over, might be even more around."
Three different voices can be heard, Rick looks towards Herschel and the door.
"It's hot. We gotta get out of here."
"Dave! Tony!!"
"Shut up, idiot! You wanna attract em?"
"Just stick close, we're gonna find em."
More heavy footsteps circle the building, two to the left, one set to the right. Rick spots the mans shadow right outside the door, holding a shotgun close to his chest.
"Dude, he said to stay close." The shadow disappears
Sicily in as flat against the wall as she can be, Glenn squatted on her right with rick on her left. Her father to the left of rick, across the door. Few minutes later, rick rises to his feet with his head on a swivel. His finger brings back the curtain to peak out before squatting down again. All the men gathering around.
"Why won't they leave." Sicily rolls her eyes.
"Would you?" She quips
"We can't sit here any longer." Rick whispers, the gears in his head twisting.
"Let's head out the back and make a run to the car."
Sicily agrees and rises to her feet, she keeps a firm grip on Glenns arm. Just as she makes it to her feet, gunshots can be heard. All four put their backs to the wall, rick tosses Sicily a spare gun. Her knowledge from her childhood and Otis is all she can remember about working a pistol. Its her only hope now though.
"What happened?" man two.
"There were roamers but i nailed them." man three.
"Their car is still here, i check both those buildings. Did y'all get this one?" man one. She was sure they were talking about this one. She cocked her gun and checked the chamber. She kept her finger on the safety and prayed she wouldn't have to kill someone.
"We are looking for Dave and Tony and nobody checks the bar?" Three pairs of footsteps make their way up the patio and Sicily's jaw is clenched tightly. Just when the door peaks open and she takes her aim, Glenn pushes the door closed again and sits against it. Rick curses and glares at Glenn. Sicily sighs and sits against the door with Glenn to hopefully barricade it even more.
"Yo someone pushed the door close."
"Should we bum rush it?"
"No, we don't know how many there are."
"Yo... is someone in there? We don't want no trouble we are just looking for our friends. If something happened to them, you need to tell us. This place is crawling with roamers I would appreciate it if you helped us not get killed." Ricks brain is boiling, stress and anxiety are building up the pressure like a damn crockpot, Sicily can practically see the steam rolling out of his ears.
"Dude you're bugging I'm telling you there is nobody in there."
"Nah, their body is blocking the door. They're in there, and they might know where tony and Dave are." Footsteps start to fade to the right of the building, slowly but surely making their way to find another exit. Sicily's eyes are still on rick as she watches him open and closes his mouth, trying to find the right words to say. She almost reaches over to slap a hand over his mouth, but she was too late.
