SEASON 1
EPISODE 3"Too easy."
»»----- -----««
THE SOUND OF THE TWINKIE'S engine hums to a halt, as the Pogues pull up to the curb outside an elegant, four-star hotel. Surrounded by high walls, manicured hedges, and luxury cars parked nearby, the contrast of the Twinkie in this refined setting is glaring. JJ leans forward, an amused grin spreading across his face.
"All right, keep on lookout," he jokes, casting a quick glance at his friends. "We're behind enemy lines."
"Yo, come on, man," John B replies with a weary chuckle, killing the engine with a twist of his wrist. He watches in frustration as JJ reaches under his seat, producing a small but ominous handgun. "Just put it back," he says, exasperated.
"What? You can never be too careful." JJ admires the weapon, tilting it under the faint streetlight as if it's a prized possession.
Outside, Pope steps out and leans back on the passenger door, arms crossed as he raises an eyebrow. "Hey, I predict that bringing a weapon to a four-star hotel will likely cause more problems than it'll solve," he warns, voice dry with sarcasm.
"Thank you, Pope," John B sighs, rubbing his forehead, his patience worn thin.
Kiara, perched casually against the front seat, gives JJ a piercing look. "I swear to God, I'm going to throw that thing into the ocean if you don't put it back," she says, her voice steady but firm.
Before JJ can respond, John B reaches over, snatching the gun from his grip with a swift motion, and hides it in the Twinkie's glove compartment. "You can't grab a gun like that," John B chides, eyeing JJ's playful scowl.
JJ rolls his eyes, slamming the car door with a hint of drama. "Fine, can't forget my badge," he says, pretending to sulk as he reaches back in to retrieve his wallet.
Victoria, trailing behind, chimes in. "So where are we going now?" she asks, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
JJ, clearly still in high spirits, waves his hand as if presenting a grand idea. "We're getting on the internet, because only rich people have electricity right now." He gestures for them to follow as he confidently strides towards a side entrance of the hotel.
They enter through a discreet back door, immediately stepping into a bustling hotel kitchen filled with the aroma of freshly cooked dishes. Chefs and kitchen staff hustle around them, barely giving the group a second glance.
"Andrew!" JJ calls out, spotting a familiar face among the cooks. "What's up, bro?" He grins widely, his usual charm on full display.
The others glance around, trying to blend in and avoid drawing attention, their eyes darting nervously across the room.
"Mama L, good to see you!" JJ reaches for a shrimp on a nearby tray, only to have his hand swatted away by the chef seasoning it. "Hey! No!" she scolds, giving him a glare. "JJ!" she warns, wagging her finger.
JJ only laughs, pushing open the door to the main hallway. "See?" he says with a smirk, glancing back at his friends. "They got backup generators going. Kooks don't miss a beat."
They navigate through the hotel's lavish corridors, taking in the elegant decor and crystal chandeliers overhead. After a short walk, JJ leads them into a room filled with rows of computers and electronic equipment.
Pope's eyes light up. He races to the nearest computer, practically hugging it. "Sweet Lord, the internet!" he exclaims, already tapping away at the keyboard.
