CHAPTER TWO - So soon

Y/n's POV

"Grabe ka talaga, Y/n! Alam mo bang trending ka ngayon?" Ate Maloi exclaimed, showing me her phone screen with the hashtags that were blowing up on X:

I kept my eyes on the road, pretending to be unfazed, but Maloi wasn't about to let it go. "Y/n! Tignan mo kasi! Beh, diko alam na close pala kayo ni Mikha ha. How could you not tell me?!"

"Ate, wala lang yan, okay?"

She gasped dramatically, "Excuse me, wala? Kita mo ba 'to? Titig na titig ka kay Mikhs eh"

I shrugged. "Nag uusap kami niyan. Ikaw talaga, sobra ka maka-issue."

She crossed her arms, "Nako nako talaga, Y/n. Pag ikaw talaga may tinatago sakin ha."

I shot her a look. "Chill ka lang."

She kept scrolling on her phone. "Alam mo bang ang dami nang nagta-tag sakin? Tanong nang tanong oh. 'Ano na to, Molai, yung pinsan mo dumadamoves na!' oh eto pa, 'Maloi, the greatest white cousin, paki-spill naman po'" bigla siyang tumingin sakin na parang sobrang laki ng kasalanan ko sakanya. So oa talaga. "Eh ako nga mismo hindi ko alam kung anong ganap sa love life mo eh."

Tinapunan ko lang siya ng malupet ng side eye. "FYI, ate ha? Kasama namin si Pat and unexpected meeting lang ang nangyari."

"Kahit na! You two looked super cute together. Imaginin mo yung potential, Y/n. BINI Mikha x Calvin Klein model... bagay na bagay!"

Hindi ko na lang sya sinagot dahil alam ko namang hindi niya ako titigilan hanggat hindi umaayon sa isip niya ang sasabihin ko.

Wag nalang magsalita.

But After a moment of her relentless teasing, I turned to her. "Alam mo, ate lucky, tigilan mo na yan, you should be thinking about something else... like, maybe, my gift?"

Bigla siyang natigilan, her eyes widening as realization dawned on her. "Wait... bukas na nga pala birthday mo!" She slapped her forehead dramatically. "Hindi pa ako nakabili ng regalo!"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Don't worry about it. Anyway, hindi ko naman planong mag-party. I just want a quiet family thing this year. Uuwi ako ng Lemery kina lolo't lola, spend a couple of weeks there, chill lang."

She gave me a pout. "Anong 'chill lang'? Beh you're turning 23 this year!"

"So?, hindi naman siguro ang magd-debut ulit diba? Family, close friends, simple get-together."

Maloi raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a mischievous grin. "Okay, fine. But what if... what if may konting 'special' Nothing big, promise."

I eyed her suspiciously, knowing that her version of nothing big might still have a little flair to it. "Ate lucky naman eh."

"Promise, chill lang! Trust me. Basta, focus ka lang sa spending time with lolo and lola. Ako na ang bahala sa small touch."

I rolled my eyes, knowing that this was as much reassurance as I was going to get. "Small lang ha?"

She laughed, crossing her fingers in front of me. "Oo naman, wala ka bang tiwala sakin?"
