*Cade's POV*

I closed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows before giving a content sigh. "That has to be the best series I have ever read in my life", I thought. It had to be. The whole entire series made so much sense to me, and the plot really was great.

"Now that you've finished whatever you've been doing, we really should start studying for that division quiz next week." My imaginary friend's voice echoed in my head.

"Fine, fine... I was planning on starting around this time anyways."

I was in fifth grade now, and even I have to admit, I'm getting a bit old for imaginary friends. But she just seemed to be so real, that it was basically impossible to just stop believing in her. How do you stop believing in something you know to be real? Not that I really have any proof anyways...

On that day, I decided that I would end my childish believe in the imaginary before I reached middle school. And I succeeded. Within a year, I had almost completely forgotten her. Sixth grade was going well, and I just simply didn't hear voices in my head anymore.

It was nearing the end of the school year, when I heard her speak again. "Um... are you... still... there? Oh honestly, this is ridiculous. I thought that I swore to stop believing in him last year!"

Wait... I thought that she didn't exist! And now she's calling me imaginary? Well, excuse me! "I actually am still here, and no, I am not imaginary." I responded.

"Wait, what? You exist?"

"Of course I do."

"That's odd. I always thought you were imaginary."

I paused for a second after her statement. Me... Imaginary? This makes no sense...

"So did I! Which probably explains why we've been ignoring each other throughout most of the year."

"Yes... Very. Oh wait. I'm afraid that I don't remember your name."

"It's Cade."

"Well then Cade, I am pleased to meet you... again I suppose. I'm Hermione Granger."

I froze in shock. What?! Hermione is a fictional character from that book I read last year! Maybe I actually am having hallucinations. Who hears voices of fictional characters in their heads? Uh... This is giving me a headache...

- Half a Year Later -

Hermione and I have made several discoveries. Since our first meeting half a year ago, we spend a lot our spare time talking to each other. And I no longer think I'm going insane.

Hermione, naturally, became very curious about how we could possibly communicate through telepathy this way. I don't even go to a magical school like Hogwarts, and I can somehow communicate with her. Very odd. She did tons of research, so much that it scared me. And she discovered something shocking.

After looking through genealogy records in the library, she discovered that she and I were actually twins, separated at birth. But that still didn't explain our connection. So she delved deeper into the subject.

Apparently, the only history there is of a muggle and a witch or wizard having a connection like this is when they are both twins, and right before the world faces a great turning point, such as a plague or a war. These twins have to protect the age from plunging into lawless chaos. Several times throughout history, there are records of twins helping stop a disaster, or dying trying. Of course, this information is only found in Hogwarts library. Our connection is called the Germinus Contineco. It very rarely happens, so knowledge of the affliction is uncommon, to say the least.

We grew more interested in out connection. We realized that the book written by JK Rowling explaining Hermione's life and future in great detail. And she existed. So... Why couldn't the other characters authors write about, or directors direct a movie about be real as well? And we discovered that all stories are actually... real.

Hermione decided to trust Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore with our secret. And they have sworn to tell us if anything unusual begins to happen. We would have to stop it after all. There's no way out of it.
