*Olivia's POV*
I took a deep breath and stepped through the odd, shimmering curtain of air. I walked out into another forest, only able to tell because the trees looked a lot younger. Where am I? Was my first thought.
I looked around for that black fabric I'd seen earlier, spinning in circles. Nothing. I sighed, and decided that this was place was kind of weird. I turned around to head back into the mist and- it was gone.
I gasped. Frantically, I grasped at the air where it'd been a few moments ago, desperately trying to get back to the known.
I heard voices, and immediately stopped swiping at the air like a lunatic. I automatically ducked behind a tree.
"We take to the woods and make a run for it," said the first voice.
That one definitely sounded like a female... and it sounded very familiar too. Like I'd heard it or read it in a movie or book sometime in the past. I tuned back into the conversation.
"Okay, let's run away," said another voice, most likely male.
"Really? You don't think I'm mad? You'll go with me?"
I moved my head, attempting to get a better view of who was talking. I just couldn't shake the feeling that I knew these two. This caused the underbrush to rustle, which startled both me and the two talking. In an attempt to get back behind the tree, I tripped, and fell at their feet. The conversation cut off abruptly. Two people bent over to look at me. A boy and a girl. Katniss Everdeen and Gale Hawthorne.

Katniss and Gale took me to Katniss's old house, the one in the seem. This whole mess was so surreal. They dragged me into the living room, and sat me down in a dusty chair.
"Are you working for the Capitol?"
"How did you get there?"
"Who are you?"
I decided to reply to those that I actually knew how to answer.
"Hi? I'm Olivia. I'm so not working for the capitol. In fact, I'm from the past I think... Because Panem is much more advanced than where I'm from. I don't know, I'm just as confused as you are."
"You're from the past? How is that possible?" Katniss asked.
"I have no idea. I saw someone in the woods, and then I saw something rippling in the air, and walked through it, and then I ended up here." I replied.
"And why do you expect us to believe you?" Gale asked forcefully.
I gestured helplessly. "I can't. I have no idea where or what that portal thing was."
"Gale, I'm going to take Olivia to my mother so she can be safe. The Capitol wouldn't like this." Katniss said to Gale.
Gale shot her a look.
"No Gale, that doesn't mean I trust her yet. Calm down." Katniss responded.
We left the house shortly after. Katniss led me quickly through the grayish snow covered streets of District 12, both of us huddled over, hurrying past the torture devices that had recently been erected in the square.
