Y/N was savoring her time off, relishing the freedom and peace that came with a day away from the constant demands of Jujutsu High. Ever since her separation from Gojo, she'd been enjoying life with a renewed sense of clarity and freedom. Being away from him had lifted a weight off her shoulders, reminding her of who she truly was. What had she been thinking, marrying that insufferable man? She chuckled to herself, amused at her own past choices, as she relaxed into the quiet of her home.

Just as she was sinking deeper into relaxation, her phone buzzed, shattering the silence. She frowned slightly, picking it up to see a call from Jujutsu High. Duty, it seemed, had found her even on her day off.

"Y/N, we need you to handle an exorcism at an abandoned building downtown," the voice on the other end informed her.

She sighed, already resigning herself to the task. "Fine. I'll be there soon."

After hanging up, she got dressed, donning her usual attire fit for battle. Her senses sharpened in anticipation of the coming fight as she mentally prepared herself. Though the task was an intrusion into her day off, there was still a thrill to her work that she couldn't deny. With a final deep breath, she was ready, and soon, a car pulled up to take her to the location.

The building loomed over her as she arrived, its decaying walls and shattered windows echoing the malevolent energy she felt within. The air was thick with cursed energy, but Y/N felt a thrill run through her veins rather than fear. It had been a while since she'd faced curses this potent.

Inside, the air was damp and cold, a chill slithering along her skin as she moved deeper into the darkness. The curses sensed her presence immediately, their energy flaring in response to hers. Without a moment's hesitation, she unleashed her power, her attacks swift and merciless. Her energy surged through the darkened halls, obliterating every cursed spirit that dared cross her path. Each curse she encountered was met with precision and skill, her movements a deadly dance as she ensured they were eradicated down to their last remnants. Within minutes, the building was clear, and a satisfying silence settled over the abandoned space.

Though the job was done, something tugged at her senses, a faint feeling that something was still lingering deeper within. Deciding to investigate, Y/N continued through the winding halls, her footsteps echoing softly against the cold concrete floors. Shadows crept along the walls, whispering secrets of the building's dark history. She found herself growing strangely uneasy, as though something was calling to her.

And then she heard it—a faint, fragile sound that pierced through the silence.

A baby's cry.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she froze, her senses sharpening. A baby? Here? She followed the sound without hesitation, her footsteps quickening as the cries grew louder, more desperate. Turning a corner, she entered a small, dimly lit room, and there, nestled between the ruins and debris, was a tiny bundle. Y/N's breath caught in her throat as she looked down at the half-curse baby, its tiny form surrounded by an aura of cursed energy, yet strangely innocent and vulnerable.

The baby looked up at her with wide, curious eyes, letting out soft coos that echoed in the silent room. Despite the faint traces of cursed energy surrounding her, she looked absolutely adorable, her chubby cheeks and tiny fists clutching the fabric around her.

Y/N felt an unexpected warmth bloom in her chest as she knelt down, her gaze softening. "Hey there, little one," she murmured, her voice gentle. Slowly, she reached out and lifted the baby into her arms, careful and tender as she cradled the child against her chest.

The baby let out a small noise, her tiny fingers reaching up to grab at Y/N's hair, tugging it with surprising strength for such a small creature. Y/N couldn't help but smile, a gentle chuckle escaping her lips as she held the child close. There was something profoundly special about this moment—a connection she hadn't felt in a long time.

Her mind raced with questions. How did a half-curse baby end up here? Who had abandoned her? But as the baby nestled against her, cooing softly, Y/N knew one thing for certain: she couldn't leave this child here. There was a purity in her gaze, an innocence untouched by the cursed energy around her, and Y/N's heart ached at the thought of leaving her in this desolate place.

"You're not alone anymore," she whispered, brushing her fingers softly against the child's cheek. "I'll take care of you."

With a newfound resolve, Y/N carried the baby out of the building, her heart swelling with an unfamiliar but welcome feeling. She looked down at the tiny face that had now drifted off into a peaceful sleep, feeling a surge of protectiveness wash over her. This child, half-curse or not, deserved a chance—a chance to be loved, to be protected, and to grow up in a world that wouldn't judge her for what she was.

Once they arrived back at her home, Y/N gently laid the baby down on her bed, carefully arranging blankets around her small form. She watched the baby sleep, her tiny chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. For the first time in years, Y/N felt a true sense of purpose, a spark of joy that she hadn't felt even in her duties as a Jujutsu sorcerer.

She thought about a name, something sweet yet meaningful. As she watched the child's soft, serene expression, the name "Sally" drifted into her mind. It felt right, like it belonged to this little miracle she had found.

"Sally," she whispered with a smile, gently brushing her fingers through the baby's soft hair. "Welcome to the world."

Sally stirred slightly, her tiny hand reaching out as if searching for Y/N's warmth. Without hesitation, Y/N took her hand, allowing the baby to grip her finger tightly. It was a simple gesture, but one that filled her heart with immeasurable warmth.

In that moment, Y/N knew that her life had just changed forever. Sally wasn't just a half-curse baby she'd stumbled upon; she was her family now. She'd protect her, teach her, and give her the love and guidance she deserved, regardless of what anyone else thought. This child, who had brought light into the darkness of that cursed building, was now her responsibility, her joy.

And for the first time in a long while, Y/N felt like she had a piece of herself back—a piece she hadn't even realized was missing.
