Chapter 4: Back to Reality

Y/N stared at the calendar on the wall, groaning as she realized her vacation had officially come to an end. She looked over at Sally, who was sitting on the floor, playing with one of her stuffed animals. Except Sally wasn't the same tiny baby Y/N had found just a short while ago. Somehow, she had aged rapidly—now appearing as an eight-year-old child.

Despite the change in her physical appearance, Sally's clingy and sweet personality hadn't changed one bit.

Y/N knelt beside her. "Sally, sweetheart, I have to go back to work today," she said gently. "It'll only be for a few hours."

The moment those words left her mouth, Sally's eyes widened, and she immediately clung to Y/N's arm. "Noooo! Don't go!" Sally cried, her bottom lip quivering.

Y/N sighed. Here it came—the puppy eyes. Sally's wide, shimmering gaze was enough to melt even the toughest of hearts. Y/N groaned internally. "Sally..." she said, trying to reason with her.

"No!" Sally said, hugging Y/N tighter. "Stay with me!"

Y/N sighed in defeat, reaching for her phone. She only had one person in mind who could possibly help her right now. She quickly dialed Nanami's number, silently praying he'd pick up.

"Y/N," Nanami's calm voice came through the line. "What's wrong?"

"I need a huge favor," Y/N said quickly, glancing down at Sally, who was still clinging to her like a koala. "Can you watch Sally for a few hours? I promise I'll repay you big time. Just this once, please!"

There was a pause on the other end before Nanami sighed. "Fine," he said reluctantly.

Y/N silently cheered. "Thank you! You're the best. I owe you!"

Within minutes, Nanami arrived at her doorstep. Sally, upon seeing him, immediately switched targets, clinging to him instead. Nanami, ever the composed one, simply let out a resigned sigh as Sally hugged his leg tightly.

Y/N laughed at the sight, giving Nanami an apologetic smile. "Thanks again, Nanami. I won't be gone long, I promise. And I'll totally make it up to you!"

"Just go," Nanami said with a wave of his hand, gently prying Sally from his leg to pick her up.

Y/N grabbed her bag, gave Sally one last wave, and headed out the door.

Arriving at Jujutsu High right on time, Y/N immediately felt the shift in atmosphere. It was as if her vacation had been a distant dream. She walked across the courtyard, spotting Megumi sitting on a bench, likely waiting for class to start.

"Hey, Megumi!" Y/N called out, waving at him.

He glanced up and gave her a small nod. "You're back."

"Yup," Y/N said, walking over to him. "How have you been? Missions treating you okay? How's your team?"

Megumi sighed, his usual stoic demeanor firmly in place. "Everything's fine," he said, though there was a hint of weariness in his tone.

Y/N smiled, ruffling his hair. "Good to hear. You're doing great, kiddo."

Megumi hesitated for a moment before glancing at her. "Are you doing okay? You know... with the whole divorce thing?"

Y/N's smile faltered slightly, and she looked away, frowning. "I'm fine," she said after a moment. "It's... over. That's all that matters."

Megumi tilted his head. "If you want, I can hit him for you," he offered with surprising seriousness.

Y/N let out a surprised laugh, her mood instantly lifting. "No, no. That's sweet of you, but no." She grinned mischievously. "Besides, no one wants his tiny dick anyway. Even Geto didn't want to stick around."

Megumi frowned, his confusion evident. "Who's Geto?"

Y/N blinked, realizing her slip. "Never mind," she said quickly. "Forget I said anything." She stood up, brushing off her pants. "Shouldn't you be in class?"

Megumi gave her a small smile, standing as well. "I'll go. But I'll talk to you again later."

Y/N watched him walk away, a soft smile on her face. Despite everything, she had people who cared about her, and that made all the difference.

Taking a deep breath, she turned and headed toward her own responsibilities, ready to face whatever the day would throw at her.
