Lennox

I woke up to the sun blazing through the window. I was going to have to buy curtains if I ever planned on sleeping in. I rolled out of bed and headed towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and throw on some shorts and a T-shirt before heading toward the front of the house. Zeus followed, dragging his feet, he was a lazy ass who liked to sleep in too. Lauren, Jeremy's wife, was in the living room with Lyla watching cartoons.

"Hey," She nodded to me as I walked in. I nodded back at her before plopping down on the couch.

"Lee lee!" Lyla shouted, running and jumping on my lap. I smiled, catching her in a big hug.

"Hey, cutie pie!"

"I'm surprised she knows you considering you've been gone her whole life." Lauren said, muttering the last part under her breath.

"Well, I honestly didn't want to be here." I shot back. Yeah, so I wasn't 'Aunt of the Year'. I had met Lyla a few times when Jeremy had come to visit and I would FaceTime her on holidays and her birthday.

She frowned at me. "I know."

I looked away from her at Zeus. I patted the couch beside me and he jumped up making himself comfortable before putting his head in my lap.

My father basically chased me out. He didn't care about anyone but the club and when he thought I was turning my back on them he had his own plan to get rid of me. I got out just in time to escape his crazy ass. About two years later, I got a call saying my brother had taken over and he wanted me to come home but I refused to be around my dad.

Footsteps came around the corner and I turned to see Jeremy.

"Morning, so what did you do last night?" He asked casually scrolling through his phone not really paying much attention.

I shrugged. "Went on a run with the Horsemen."

"I'm surprised you wanted to go." He muttered.

He seems to not know anything about it and I was relieved because I didn't need him on my ass about them having a run in with the Angels. He sat on the couch beside me, well as close as he could cause Zeus was not moving. "Look, I know you don't agree with how I run things but I have to keep my family safe." He looked at Lyla watching her show and eating a waffle that had been in her hand since I came in here. "I would rather you didn't go on any runs from now on."

"Why the hell not?" I scoffed, offended. He knew damn well I could take care of myself. It's not that I really cared so much as it was that I was pissed at him already telling me what to do. He sighed.

"Len, I just don't want anything to happen to you." He said calmly, kinda surprising me. He used to always fly off the handle at anyone questioning him. "The Horsemen are not trying to stay out of Xavier's way. They have their own problems with them and I don't want you getting caught up in something and getting hurt."

"So, what, is Xavier like your secret friend now or something." His eyes darkened and looked like he was remembering something.

"I hate that bastard." He sneered. "But I know what he is capable of, and I know that we don't have enough men to take that club down but soon we just might." I wondered what he meant by that. He looked me in the eye now. "I know you can handle yourself, I understand that you were raised around this but he will not hesitate to kill you. Do not provoke him." He said sternly. He never talked to me like this. He wasn't fussing or yelling like I was a child. I could see he was actually concerned about me. I trusted him more than anyone, growing up he was the only person I had who actually cared about me.
