Blade

"This better be fucking important." I said standing by Clutch who was leaning against the door frame. Xavier was at the table with Chase, Eric and Ace.

"The Horsemen, who went after Aubrey today, are taken care of." Xavier started, nodding my way as to say thank you. "But the reason why, I can only assume, has to do with us running security again. We are going to amp up numbers in runs just to be safe and we need to watch closely for any chatter from them. I don't want a repeat of what happened last year." He seemed to be fighting with the memories of almost losing Aubrey.

"We won't let that happen." Chase declared, seeing his worry.

"What about the girl?" Eric spoke up. We all looked at him. "Jeremy's sister?"

I glared at him. "What about her?" I snapped hearing the frustration in my voice.

"Well it is obvious that the Horsemen and Riders work together after the 'coincidence' last year when the Riders took Aubrey. Are we not at least going to consider-"

"The girl is with me, if you have a problem with her you can fuck off." I shot at him.

"Cause clearly you are thinking straight." He muttered, shaking his head.

"Blade trusts her, and I trust him. If something comes up he will let us know." Xavier cut in, looking at me. "Until then, she isn't a concern."

Lennox

"We need to talk!" I demanded as I stormed into my brother's house. I had left Xavier's as soon as I woke up and came straight to Jeremy's. He was sitting at the table eating breakfast with Lyla.

He let out an aggravated breath and looked up at me. "Can it wait?"

"Now." I glared at him.

He got up and followed me towards the living room. "I don't appreciate you storming in here like this." He sneered, clearly in a mood. Well, that made two of us!

"I don't appreciate an attempt on my life, but here we are." I snapped back.

"What are you talking about?"

"I don't know what you and the Horsemen are planning but going after Aubrey again...big mistake."

His eyebrows pulled together like he had no idea what I was talking about. I turned, grabbing the tv remote and turning on the local news.

"...two bodies found in the parking lot of an abandoned department store, one appears to have been stabbed multiple times..." maybe Blade had more to do with that than I realized.

I muted the tv and turned back to him. "Who did he kill?" His face was pale in shock and I could see he really did not plan this.

"Two Horsemen came for Aubrey while she was at work. You have told me multiple times that she is off limits, do you not see they have no regard for these rules. The Horsemen cannot be trusted!"

"What is it with you young people?" We both turned to see my dad walk in. "There are no rules, Xavier understands that." He smirked. "In fact, you could say I taught him that."

"She isn't involved in whatever this is."

"Of course she is. She is a pawn, you think you get to people by messing with them?" He laughed once. "You mess with the person they love. The person whose life matters more than their own." He pointed a finger at me. "The power to the person who cares less."

I threw my hands up. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Seriously, how fucked up can someone be?" I snapped at him. Damn psychopath.

"Did you know about this?" Jeremy asked him.

He shrugged. "I didn't know they were acting that quick, but I knew they would. You should have to. Come on now, don't let her influence your decision, you know what the club needs." He looked directly at Jeremy. "There is no other way to take them down."

"Lyla almost died last time you did this shit!" I reminded him trying to get him to listen to me and not that fucking crazy person I knew as dad.

"But she didn't." He slipped in, like we forgot.

"Because of Aubrey!" I demanded.

"Yes, one act of kindness and you are willing to compromise everything. Don't be a fool! She won't be the first innocent life lost and she won't be the last, at least her dying will serve a purpose."

"Do you even hear yourself?!" I yelled at my dad.

"Women are too emotional, making them easy to target, easy to manipulate." He turned to Jeremy now. "Use your head, Son, the club first, like I taught you."

He turned, walking away. I looked at my brother. "Jer, please..."

"I don't know why you care so much about this, but he is right, I have to take care of my club first. Her safety is not my concern."

"Fine." I couldn't believe him. Was this really my brother? I went to leave and he grabbed my arm to stop me.

"How did you know?" He asked, not looking at me but at the tv that was still showing the news.

"What?"

"How did you know about the Horsemen going after Aubrey? I haven't even heard from them yet."

I pulled away from him. "Who do you think helped slow them down before they could be properly taken care of?" He looked over me and his eyes fell on the cut running across my throat.

"Stay out of this, Lennox!" He demanded getting in my face. "Please," He practically begged.

I laughed once without humor. "You are weak, you became a monster, just like him."

He sneered at me and his face turned red in anger. "You will not compare me to Xavier!" He spat.

"I meant dad." With that, I turned and left
