As the sun was near setting down, four boys ran out of the wilderness of the jungle, Luffy recklessly ran forward to the town while holding Tenko's hand. His pinkie was already out once Luffy grabbed him. As they were running to the brightly colored bar, I spotted a young green haired girl sweeping the front deck of the building.
"HEY! Makino!" As Luffy shouted, the woman noticed and looked to the boys, she paused her sweeping.
"Oh! Hey Luffy," She noticed him, "Oh? Who's this?" She asked
Tenko was hiding behind the younger boy, unsuccessfully, Luffy also noticed him hiding and pulled him out of his spot, and introduced him, "This is Tenko, he can make stuff into ash!"
Tenko's face paled to a ghostly white as Luffy revealed his quirk. 'Oh no... nononono! I just met this lady! She's gonna think I'm a freak too!' His body froze as his mind rushed with lots and lots of dramatic scenes of him being thrown away again.
"Really? Did you eat a Devil Fruit too?" The Lady squatted down, asking him. A Devil fruit?
'Oh! That's what Luffy ate! But... should I tell the truth or lie? If I lie, she might know and hit me! Or if I tell the truth, she'll think I'm a freak of nature!' Tenko's mind flushed with anxiety, his palms sweaty, his knees weak, arms heavy, mom's spaghetti.
"He says that it's a quick!" Luffy smiles brightly, the other boys have caught up from his sprinting.
"It's called a quirk, dummy!" Ace interjects. They slow down, panting with their hands on their knees.
"Ohhh.. Yeah! That!" Straw hat nods. My mind blanks
'What...'
'Why would they say that!?'
I fearfully look up to the green haired lady's eyes, "Ohh, and that is?" She taps her chin in question.
"It's a mystery power!" The scarred boy proudly shouts
She chuckles and nods, probably a regular occurrence. "Anyway, are you hungry? I can make something real quick!" and before Luffy could answer her, Sabo interrupted.
"No thanks, we just ate!" He then grabbed Luffy's hand then reached for mine. 'If he touches my hand, he'll turn to ash too!' I step back and he gently grabs my wrist. "Now come on, we gotta have him meet Dadan!" Luffy started whining about meat, with a few rebuttals from his brothers.
They began sprinting again, going all the way back to forest again. My legs started to ache but seeing them smiling, laughing and bantering, I felt like I was part of them, like I was part of their brotherly bond as well. Unconsciously the corners of my mouth started to twitch upwards.
