When Love Says Hello

Chapter 14

"Wake up!"
My voice echoed through Li's ears. Li sat up on her bed.
"Calm it..." I held my arms around her waist, one of my palms were on her beating heart. That might hurt her.

"I thought I was scared..." She whispered, leaning against me.
"Don't worry..." I whispered in her ear. "Some spirit of mine found me something amazing for us." I stood up with her hand in mine.

"It might..." I looked outside the room. "Be nice for your cooking skills..." Taking her hand into mine, squeezing it tight, I gently lead her out of the room.

As we stepped outside the room, I made Li look into her own room.

The kitchen room was filled with beautiful utensils, and a bowl of chopped watermelons and grapes inside the bowl. However, the bowl was made of ice. I embraced Li and whispered in her ear, "It's yours. I have my own in the table over there." He pointed to the purple one over there, in the shape of a beautiful fountain.

"Wow!" Li exclaimed.
In the room, I wanted to cook something for her but she held my hand, saying, "Shall we cook something for the empress, together?"
I nodded.
Hence we organized the dishes and cooked them. A young lady named Jiang came and observed us. She picked up a small duck's egg, and observed belly pork and quietly asked Li, "Why do you choose eggs... and then meat? Who does that?"

Li looked and answered politely, "Oh, the men in our palace eat meat. And that's required before my friend he marries me. It's a requirement."

I looked up, blushing.
"No, no...I didn't wanna cook to marry you!" I said quietly.

Li nodded. "He does love me very much."

I laughed, hand on my head. As soon as the boiled duck egg was served beside pork belly on a tray, Jiang wanted to carry it to the men of the palace.

I went beside her.
"Are you sure you wanna serve that?"
Jiang nodded, carried the tray and walked.
