I was dreaming while in the coma. I dreamt about what happened this past summer. Now, I am having trouble catching up in school, but so far getting there. I'm almost there. Every night I've stayed up late doing make up work and helping mom plan her wedding. Alyss's fifteenth birthday came and went. Dad and uncle Sam are officially done hunting. They're out for good. I'm going to be a psychiatrist and Alyss is gong to be a pediatrician, Ben still doesn't know. He'll figure it out soon. Dawn is the maid of honor and Alyss and I are matrons of honor. Uncle Sam and Ben are the groomsmen. The ceremony and everything else is being held in the backyard.
"Oh my God. I did it! I'm caught up! I understand it, I can do it, I got this! I'm done playing catch up! Woohoo!" I said.
"You're sure you're completely done with all that homework? Positive?" Mom said hopefully.
"Yes. I'm very sure." I answered, standing up from the kitchen table.
"Yes! No more late nights!" Mom said in excitement. "I'm so glad you're done. I really am. Go to bed and sleep. You've been running on caffeine drinks for three months now go sleep. Not catnap, actually sleep. Enter the REM stage of sleep. Seriously."
"Okay. Good night mom. I love you." I went up to my and Alyss's room, climbed into the bed next to Alyss, kissed her on the side of her head, and said, "good night, Alyss. I love you."
"I love you too. This is the first time we've said it. It feels right, doesn't it?" Alyss said.
"Yes it does. That's how you know it's meant to be." I said, laying down, wrapping one arm around Alyss. Alyss snuggled into me and we slept until ten the next morning. The day of the wedding.
"Good morning baby girl. How'd you sleep?" I said.
"Good morning darling. I slept well, how did you sleep?" Alyss said.
"Well. I'm going to shower and do my hair." I said, getting out of bed.
I showered thoroughly, I wanted to be super clean for the wedding. After I got out, Alyss got in. She and I did each other's hair. My hair is stick straight and it's a pixie cut, so we just blow dried it and sprayed sparkly hair spray in it. I straightened Alyss's hair and sprayed in the sparkly hair spray. We got completely ready then got my mom ready. She looks stunning. Dad isn't gonna know what hit him. The next thing I know, mom is taking her shoes off and handing them to me to hold while she had the first dance with dad. The ceremony was beautiful. Dad and mom danced amazingly, as did Alyss and I. Ben and I danced also. He's pretty good for someone who didn't take lessons. Mom and dad let Ben, Alyss, and I drink whatever we wanted, as long as we understood this was the only exception and aren't allowed to drink again until we're twenty-one. I drank so much beer that I actually passed out. Alyss took me into the house and it was fine. I was only out for about ten minutes, then I vomited, so I was done drinking alcohol. I only drank water for the rest of the night. It was so much fun.
"Excuse me. I would like to make a toast." Sam, my best friend/sister, threw toast at me. "I just wanted to say that I've dreamt about this for years and now that it's happened, I'm happier. The summer is going to be easier since now I'm staying in Battle Creek. Not that I didn't like Kansas, I did, but now I don't have to worry about packing almost all my things every summer. And my parents make a beautiful couple. Look at them. They just fit don't they? I love you guys so much and I aspire to have such a sustainable, tangible, trusting, respecting, and especially loving relationship with my girlfriend as these two people do." I finished my toast. "To my parents; finally together forever." Everyone took a sip of their drink. Ben got up to give his toast.
"Hi everyone. I probably won't top Raven's toast but I should do this. I'm making a toast." Toast flew across the room again. "My mom has been such an amazing mom to both me and my sister and Dean has been a good role model for me, I wouldn't want anyone else as my father. Thanks for everything guys. To a happy, happy marriage." Everyone took a swig of their drink, guess mine was better. Multiple people gave a toast, and multiple slices of toast flew across the room. It was a blast. Once everyone went home, I changed into bum clothes (black fuzzy pants and an oversized black t-shirt) and helped clean up the mess. That night was amazing. It was some of the most fun I've had with my parents. Alyss and Ben agree.
