Are Mates Forever?

Chapter 21

Rose's pov

'Adria, did we catch on fire?!'

'I don't know.'

'I think we did because I'm exhausted.' I said starting to pass back out.

Unknown pov-

My mate just went limp in my arms, she isn't dead but I need to shift so I can get to the pack doctor faster. 

'Please, don't make me lose this one' my wolf whines in our link.

'Can you link her wolf?' I link back.

"Love? You've gotta get up for me" I whisper putting her down, and taking off my clothes to shift.

She gets goosebumps, but doesn't wake up or move.

'Her wolf, Adria, says that she doesn't know what's happening or if she's gonna make it. Please. Hurry.' My wolf whines.

'Ray, you need to settle down, we will get her there' I link back.

'Zack, that's my girl. My mate. Don't make me lose this one.' My wolf links as we shift.

I close the link, and Ray begins to run. Clothes in our mouth.

We make it near the pack doctors office in about 14 minutes, a new record for us. I shift back, and put on pants, picking my girl up.

'Ray....I can't lose her either...' I link on the verge of tears. Rushing inside, "Doc, please, take her!!"

"What happened?!" The doctor shouts, taking my mate.

"I don't know, I found her in the woods."

I watch as they attach her to machines, running tests.

Roses POV

I start waking up..

"Tucker? Lilac?" I feel a dull throb when I say their names and begin to cry.

"Heyy baby, don't cry" a smooth voice says from the room.

I startle scooting back, opening my eyes, hearing my heartbeat increasing. "Baby?" I repeat studying the guy, he has short fluffy Auburn hair, slightly more brown than mine, piercing blue eyes, and looks about 5'7.

"Sorry, I don't know your name" the smooth voiced guy says softly, "please don't be alarmed, I don't want to hurt you, I am the one who found you"

At his words I remember the tingles when he lifted me, and my Wolf's words "mate"

"No" I whisper softly.

"No?" He echoes.

"You're my mate, but that's impossible, I already have -well, had- 2, Lilac and Tucker, th-this is too weird, you can't be my mate, I can't have a mate." As I talk my breath speeds up, the edges of a panic attack coming in, my vision darkening.

"I don't know how it happened, and please don't be afraid, but you are my mate. I had two mates as well, they rejected me, then died.." He says, darkening with the last words.

"I'm so sorry...only one rejected me..I rejected my other mate...it was so damn stupid." I say softly, "I have no idea how that feels, but I can imagine it's 10 times worse than what I feel now. I know I'm your mate, but I don't know how to be a mate yet."
