October 1st, Saturday

I wake up, my heart is hungover from the wonderful events of yesterday. Tia and I sit on my couch, and we talk of boys. "Tia, he still hasn't responded, I feel embarrassed now. Was it awkward? I feel like I'm already crushing on him, even though it's only been like a week. because how couldn't I? He's a gentleman, super attractive, smart, and attractive." I vent, sitting crisscross applesauce with Tia on the couch in our pajamas.

"I think you mentioned he was attractive," she pokes. "It's no secret that he's handsome, unfortunately. I'll bet every girl he's ever talked to is in love with him. How could they not be? He's 6 '1, ripped, perfect jawline, perfect hair, piercing green eyes, and a smile that would make even straight men swoon. By the way, don't you dare tell anyone that I'm gushing about him like this, I'll ruin you."

"Okay one, I wouldn't tell anyone since you are my only friend, and two, I've talked to him and I'm not in love with him so I don't think you have to worry too much about Mr. Gorgeous," Tia says, rubbing her eyes and wrapping her blanket around her small frame. "That's because you have a crush on Mr. Englanddd," I say in a sing-song voice, poking her. A grin escapes her, and we laugh. Then, my phone rings. "Oh? And how is that?" James texts me. He remembered my text.

I flash my screen to Tia, seeking advice and mutual excitement. "I'll bet you he would say it even hotter in real life, his voice is like butter." I smile in agreement, and say, "So how do I respond?" "It's all you, I wanna see what you would say." Then, I got an idea and seized my opportunity. "How about you meet me at the park and I'll tell you," I say, with an upside-down smiley emoji. But, before I send it, I show it to Tia. "Ooh. That's cute. But, you should say something like, 'xoxo' or add cafe boy at the end." I love her idea even more.

I send it, and he answers, "Are you asking me out, cafe girl?" "Sure am" I answer, very nervous. "Then it's going to have to be a no, sorry." My heart stops. It feels like there are rocks in my throat. "What did he say??" Tia asks. "He rejected me! Oh my gosh, I knew it! He's probably one of those guys that only dates skinny short blondes" I say gloomily. My phone buzzes again. "I'm going to have to take you out first, sorry. I know it's traditional, but a first date is important and I want to curate the perfect date for you."

I punch the air and squeal, rolling back and forth on the bed, and then I accidentally fall over, but squeal again and punch the ground excitedly. "What??" "He asked me out!!" I say, sitting up and pumping my fists. "Yay! Okay, let's pick your outfit! Where are you going?" She asks. "Oh, right, where am I going.. let me check my messages." "How about we still go to the park, and I'll surprise you, that is if you like surprises?" He asks.

I hate surprises, but coming from him? I love surprises. "Of course. What time?" "How about.. in an hour?" He asks. "Hey, James, in an hour I can give you a wrinkly dress and brushed hair, but if you give me two I'll be a princess," I say. "I'm sure you're pretty either way, but I'll take the princess. See you at 8:00" he says. It's currently 6 am since I wake up early because I'm used to waking up before sunrise for school.

"Quick, our timer starts.. now!" I say, running into my room. "I'll pick out outfit options while you shower and do hair and makeup, okay?" "Deal!" I run into my shower, and get out of my pajama shirt, the only piece of clothing I can stand to wear without getting extremely hot at night. I look in the mirror to see faint ab lines on my stomach and get excited to see progress. I look at my thighs, which have filled out and now barely touch each other. I'm proud of my body however it looks, particularly when it shows my character, such as how I love sports, and how it tones my stomach and waist, but bulks up my arms and legs.

I take a shower, and step out feeling like a scorched chicken, yes, but also very clean and appealing. I throw on a towel and begin to put on lotion, perfume, leave-in conditioner, and the works. And then, I get to do my hair. I pull out some loose wavy pieces in the front and put the rest up in a ponytail with a few small braids in it. I do some makeup and look at myself in the mirror. I feel beautiful. I walk out and see Tia waiting for me, three outfits laid out on my bed.
