He walks me up the stairs like a gentleman and I keep my eyes from scanning the six feet and four inches of pure lean muscle standing beside me. His abs oh my gosh- no, I should not think this what would my grandma think? I imagine everyone being able to hear my thoughts and panic for a second until I realize I can think whatever I want, even though it would be best if I kept this brain pg."Tiana, what's on the ground that's so interesting?" He chuckles and my knees buckle, no knees don't fail me now! I hold myself upright as I think of an excuse that doesn't involve me crushing hard on him. "Mmm," I think, biting my lip, I will need some chapstick later. Probably a band-aid at this point. He simply laughs and continues to talk about a funny story of when he was playing soccer. I listen intently, even though I don't give a flying shit about sports, but to be fair, I asked him on the topic.
"Tiana, are you well? You seem unfocused today," he asks, putting a hand on my back as we walk to the lobby on the second floor. Jackson sits with a book, his perfect brows furrowed as he flips a page. That is handsome if I've ever seen it. Hikaru goes into his room, slipping on a shirt as my mind groans in disappointment. Hikaru scrambles to find the head opening in his hoodie and all I can think is he is a mess of gorgeous. I force myself to break my gaze and I walk to my room, taking off my kuromi pajamas.
I shouldn't sell him short, he is so much more than gorgeous. I get dressed as I think of every time he's made me laugh, or every time he made me smile because he did something sweet. Maybe I'm crazy, but I have a crush and fantasizing is what I do. I dress in my best light wash, low rise, baggy jeans, but I secretly layer leggings underneath for protection from the cold. I put on a hoodie and shoes and step out into the hall.
Hikaru is still dressing himself, so I lean on the wall beside his door. I hum 'ghost town (voice memo)' by Chloe George to myself. He walks out in a Ralph Lauren sweatshirt and jeans, fixing his hair. He smiles gently and tips his head, gesturing to walk. We go outside, taking a path that I'm sure lasts miles. We walk down a beautiful pathway, flourished with beautiful engravings and designs into the concrete.
The snow has already been shoveled off of it. This home is so beautiful, it's like an eighteenth century castle. "Your voice was so pretty," Hikaru says, his British accent making me feel like I'm in a movie. I blush. "Thank you," I laugh quietly. "No, really, will you please sing for me again?" He asks, stopping and turning me to face him.
"now?" I say, kicking my feet nervously. "If you don't mind," he says, tipping my face up to look at him. I look away. I laugh. "You aren't allowed to look at me, and we have to keep walking." I say, starting to walk. He catches up to me. "Deal," he says. I clear my throat.
"Any song requests?" I ask, looking at him. "Hmm. Pick up your feelings." He says snickering. A hard laugh bursts from me and I hit his arm. "Of all the songs you chose that one?" I exclaim into vast land. He controls his laughter. "Why not?" He snorts. I snicker and start to sing, my gosh this is embarrassing.
It takes me several tries to get going and my voice cracks twice, but by the way he's looking at me you'd think I put him under a spell. I finish, laughing nervously. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I smile brightly. He laughs and looks down. "It was just really good, that's all," he tells me, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his jeans.
I look at him skeptically. "Really," he says, making a convincing face that says, 'it didn't suck that bad!' As I look up at him I notice how tall he is. "Hikaru, your sister's name is Sakura, right?" I ask, my nose surely turning red in the cold. "Yeah, why?" he asks, dragging his foot through the snow. "What does she do for a living?" I ask, making sure my bangs aren't messed up.
