Taylor’s POV
Game days were my favorite, especially when I got to be in the stands, watching Travis play. I loved the atmosphere—the deafening cheers, the bright lights, the feeling of excitement that buzzed through the crowd like electricity. It was infectious, and it didn’t take long for Kylie and me to dive headfirst into the celebration.
The stadium was buzzing with energy, and I could feel the adrenaline running through my veins as I sat in the VIP box, nursing my drink and trying to get as much out of this game as possible. Kylie was sitting next to me, her eyes glued to the field while she sipped on her cocktail. Donna, Travis’s mom, was with us, a calming presence as we all chatted excitedly about the game.We had started drinking early—beer first, and then, as the game went on, we moved to stronger cocktails. Each touchdown was an excuse for another drink, and before long, I was feeling warm and giddy. We were in the perfect spot to watch the Chiefs play, and I could feel the atmosphere building with each touchdown.
By halftime, we were several rounds in, and I was buzzing, feeling that carefree joy that only came with good company and a bit too much to drink. I couldn’t stop laughing; everything felt light, like I was floating above any of the stress that sometimes weighed me down. Kylie was a perfect partner in crime, encouraging me to let loose, and we giggled together over inside jokes that wouldn’t have made any sense to anyone else but it all felt like magic.
The Chiefs won. The stadium erupted, and I found myself screaming until my voice was hoarse. There was confetti, there were cheers, and Kylie and I threw our arms around each other, dancing around our seats. The drinks had hit me hard, and when I finally looked at the scoreboard and realized the game was over, I felt like I was on top of the world.

Travis’s POV
The game had just finished, and I was on top of the world. We’d won, and the energy in the stadium was through the roof. I was buzzing from the game, but also looking forward to seeing Taylor, to sharing in that euphoria with her. As I made my way up from the field, the reporters were swarming around me, asking about the game, the victory. I didn’t mind, but I was eager to get to the box where Taylor and Kylie were. I needed to make sure they were okay, that they had enjoyed themselves.
I found Jason in the reporters’ box, laughing at something someone had said. "Hey, man, can you come with me?" I asked him, grabbing his arm. "I need you to help me get Taylor and Kylie. They're probably… well, let's just say I’m guessing they’ve had a good time."
Jason raised an eyebrow but followed me, his pace quickening when we reached the box. We both peeked inside, and I saw Taylor and Kylie talking animatedly, clearly having a blast. Taylor was sitting next to Kylie, gesturing wildly with her hands as she continued on about the cats.
"Alright," Taylor said, slurring hher words just a bit. "Let’s be real. I don’t even care about the game right now. I need chicken tenders. Stat."
Kylie’s eyes lit up. "Same! And I need a cat. Like, right now. How do we make that happen?"
Tay burst out laughing. "A cat? Seriously? Kylie, I think i love you even more now than before."
"I’m serious," she said, grabbing her phone and showing me some cute kitten photos. "Look at these babies, Taylor. Look! We could totally have one of these."
"Oh my god, Kylie," she said, her voice getting louder as she got more excited. "They’re so cute! We can get chicken tenders, and then go to a shelter and get a cat. You and me, tonight. We’ll bring them home and name them… I don’t know, like… Fluffy McSnuggles."
Jason and I stood there, waiting for them to notice us. I had a feeling they wouldn’t realize we were there until we spoke, but I didn’t mind. It was nice to watch them have their fun.
