Shalk: I activate King Stormdark's ability.

Alito: What!?

Shalk: By using an overlay unit, my opponent now takes any effect damage I would for the rest of the turn!

Alito: Wait, so...that 3300 damage you would take...

Shalk: Hehe...IT'S GOING TO YOU!

Comet Cestus lands the blow, but when King Stormdark is destroyed, lightning shoots all around us, suddenly striking Alito as he yells out in pain before he flops onto his back.

(Shark POV)

Rio and I both stood together, watching the recording Vector sent us of the duel him and Alito had with YN. As I stared at the virtual screen brought up by my duel gazer, I could feel my hands shaking, my head swarming with thousands of questions. YN...he...he's Shalk!? He isn't dead!? How and why did he come back now of all times!?

I slide my duel gazer off as Rio does the same. We turn to each other and neither of us know what to say. Suddenly Rio's eyes filled with tears as she lets out a tiny voice.

Rio: Shalk, he...he's back...

Shark: Yeah...guess he is.

Rio: But...why is he acting like this? This isn't the Shalk I knew. He was kind, compassionate, he-he hated fighting more than anything...and he would never do something like this to the people he saw as friends...

Shark: I don't know. What I'm more worried about are his intentions. For all we know, Shalk could be planning to collect all of the numbers again to cause chaos all throughout heartland city.

Rio: If that were the case, why would he be aiming to hunt specific numbers? First it was the Mythyrian numbers, and now from what we saw on the recording, he's aiming to take the over one hundred numbers. If he wanted to spread the numbers again to corrupt the people of heartland city, he would be able to do that easily with any numbers he comes across.

Shark: You're right...but instead he's looking for the strongest numbers there are, almost like he's...gathering...energy for something.

Rio and I slowly look at each other, worried expressions growing on our faces.

Rio: You...you don't think "he" has something to do with this, right...?

Shark: There's a...scarily good chance he is...and if he is, then that would explain why Sha- YN is acting like this. We need to find him immediately!

Rio: Right!

We both run for my bike that was down the street and hop inside, Rio in a smaller compartment to the side that I had installed for her. I start it up and start driving to the school, hoping YN was still there. As we drove, Rio spoke again.

Rio: Shark...do you...do you think that YN is still...YN? Or was he like us back then?

Shark: What do you mean?

Rio: Fully embracing his Barian history...forcing himself to change, make himself our enemy like we did when we first changed?

Shark:...As far as I'm concerned, YN is still YN, no matter what he looks like or who he says he is. Yuma felt the same way about me back then, and that's one of the biggest reasons I was able to be saved. Now it's our turn to do that for YN.

Rio: Yeah...yeah, you're right. YN is still YN, no matter what! We'll find him and...and snap him out of this...whatever it is! We can still fix what's going on! besides...
