Judith thought getting vertigo every other day was enough to gain the attention of her family.
She thought wrong.Kansas layed on the couch, resting her head on the armrest and closing her eyes. It was currently tornado season, and Kansas was not having a very good time.
Of course, she was used to such conditions. Tornadoes weren't anything to her at this point, but it would be nice if her siblings looked her way every once n a while.
It was a little helpful that she wasn't currently in Topeka or Wichita. Being in their state while something was happening tended to make things more painful for them. While being far away helps little, it still helps. At the moment, she was in one of her father's state houses in Tallahassee, Florida. The gentle breeze of the Florida beach was a drastic change from the harsh winds of the midwest.
She listened as her sibling's footsteps walked past her, the jingling of pans and the slaps of hands ringing around her in every direction. No one disturbed her.
A click of a phone camera went off, and the clicking of the stove started the soft whoosh of a flame. The keys jangled and the door creaked.
Wait. The door creaked?
"Dad's here!" The voice she assumed to be Vermont called out.
She opened her eyes and looked towards the front door, the familiar figure of a man stepping in right in front of her.
Alfred grinned. His signature bomber jacket on his shoulders, Texas on his eyes and Nantucket curving on his hair. "Miss me?"
A few footsteps ran over and hugged the blonde man. Vermont, and California looked up at him with a grin.
"Finally time to visit us huh?" Ivy smiled, her green eyes the color of the Vermont mountains.
"Yup! What kinda hero would I be if I didn't visit some of my kids hm?"
Nevada stood by and grinned. "Tony is in the other room! He's playing Call of Duty,"
"Of course he is!" Alfred grinned and ruffled Nevada's already messy hair.
"We are in here Papa!" A feminine voice rang out from the kitchen.
"Whatcha making in there, Louie?"
"Jambalaya!"
"Fancy!" He smiled and walked into the kitchen, disappearing into the doorway.
Judith sat there in silence for a minute, until her thoughts were interrupted.
"Hey-"
"Ah!" Judith sputtered and sat up so fast it made her surroundings do barrel roll. She looked over to see wheat-colored hair, along with wheat-colored eyes and dirty cheeks..a rather bland color pallet. "Can't you announce when you come into a room, Bennett?"
The state of Nebraska just stood over her and smiled. "You do the same to the others ya know?"
"At least when I walk in there's a breeze to tell im there. You? You just pop in!"
Bennett just smiled again.
She sighed and ignored him, opting to stare at the kitchen archway some more, listening to the laughter of the other states. She didn't even realize Ben had gone until she heard the sound of her most famous sibling.
"He's a jumpscare, isn't he? He just appears. Ya know, he reminds me of a reoccurring NPC," Aurelia mused.
Kansas looked over to her.
