Is this what existing feels like?

I opened my eyes, an unfamiliar feeling hitting my skin...

Skin?

No, it wasnt skin...at least, not fully skin.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I could feel a pinch in my arm...

I felt light, as if I wasnt all that there. I could feel Spaniards and French travelers...

I wasnt even sure how I knew what those were, I just knew it for some reason.

Mountains stood behind me, their purple glow shining against the golden sun. Equally as golden fields stretched out beyond into the modernizing east. Horses ran in the distance.

"Hiya!"

I flinched as I heard a little voice next to me.

Turning around, my eyes met with alert hazel eyes. Flickers of green and light brown swirling in them.

"Hello?" My voice sounded just as young as hers.

She looked very young, like a 4 year old. Her hair was shoulder length and extremley curly, like little bumps. It was as red as a rose. I unconsciously ran my hand through my straight blonde hair.

"My name is-" She suddenly stopped. "Huh...Im not too sure."

"Why?'

"Your name is Why?"

"No I meant-"

"Wy! Nice to meet you Wy," She smiled.

"...Thats not my name, Reddie."

"Hey! I have a name now too!"

I just stared at her.

She grinned and looked at his arm. "We are matching!"

I tilted my head. "Huh?"

She smiled and pointed towards her arm.

Along her arm was a huge birthmark, rising from her wrist to her shoulder.

I stared at it for a bit before looking at my own arm.

The same birthmark rose from my wrist to my shoulder, reaching farther inward towards my chest. "Woah, we are matching."

Red grinned at me and took my hand. "We were created next to each other! Ya know what that means right?"

"Hm?" I slowly relax.

"We are twins!"

"Huh, I guess your right!" I start to smile.

She grins even more and jumps, her form just as transparent as mine.

"Woah, I have a twin! This is so great!" I burst into a smile.

"So great!" She agrees.

"And we'll do everything together!"

"So true!"

"And we'll never be apart!"

"Right!" She hops up and down and hugs me. "Never apart! Together forever!"

I burst into a smile just as bright as hers, hopefully...I would like to be as bright as her. "Together forever!"

...

We had done everything together, and people were none the wiser.

Since we weren't territories, we were barely seen by humans and even other personifications. On the occasions that we made a brief appearance, the other States thought they had seen a ghost.
