Jhoanna's POV
The sound of the clock and the keyboards annoys me as I stare at my computer screen.
I can't stop myself from thinking about Louise's plan.
I haven't talked to Stacey yet about what happened inside that car. I know something happened there that made Louise feel confident last night.
I want to ask our team leader about the news today, but I know I can't just do that.
"Are you okay?"
Napalingon ako sa workmate ko ng magsalita siya sa tabi ko
"Huh?"
Tanong ko dahil masyadong malalim ang nasa isip ko
"I mean, hindi mo parin ginagalaw coffee mo. It's been an hour, malamig na yan" she said
Napatingin ako sa cup of coffee ko at naalalang kanina ko pa pala na timpla yun
"I heard there's an important and huge news later, it's Louise news. She got something big news from the party last night"
Napakagat ako sa labi ko dahil sa kaba.
Is it about Stacku?
No.
Natatakot ako sa possible na mangyare. They can actually change the story behind or make a fake news about it.
I trust the media but I don't trust Louise. She's good at making stories impactful to the point na hindi na na coconsider ang fact check.
"Sino mag dedeliver ng showbiz news?" Tanong ko
Maybe i can prevent things to happen.
"I have no idea. Absent daw si Kaycee, so they probably gonna find someone to replace her"
Kaycee is one of the famous Showbiz reporter.
Hindi pa ako nakakasagot ng hampasin niya ang braso ko
"I heard there's big news for you? They had a meeting this morning, and somehow I heard your name."
I stared at her.
I almost forgot what our team leader promised me. Well, I'm no longer expecting anything since I didn't provide any updates about last night.
"Bakit parang hindi ka excited?"
"I don't want to expect things" napapa iling na sabi ko at tumayo para palitan ang kape ko.
As I walked to get a new coffee, I stopped when I saw Louise in front of me. She's grinning, and my mood immediately changed.
"Ms. Robles, how was the party last night? I couldn't finish it, I had to leave early because I needed to pass the report. I hope your friend doesn’t mind about the news later."
"Ms. Louise, I don't know what kind of news you're talking about. Stop dragging my friend into your dirty tricks just to get a promotion."
She chuckled softly and stepped closer.
"Why? Scared?"
She leaned her face toward mine.
"Don't worry, i won't do anything to your friend... but... I'm warning you to pray for your relationship. You might be the one to ruin it for her."
