Stacey's POV

I put the lipstick down on the table and grabbed my bag.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I took a deep breath and smiled before stepping out of my room.

"Stacey, someone just messaged me. Ms. Arceta and Lim want to see you. You didn't attend Ms. Ricalde's art exhibit this morning, so they're asking if you can at least come to the after party?" Ate Sol asked as we walked toward the car.

"Tell them I can't come" I replied as I got inside.

I checked my phone and saw Mikhaiah's message.

"They're not going to accept 'no' for an answer. It's been weeks since you returned here, they just want to see you in person" she insisted.

Ate Sol knows a lot of things, except for my past with Jhoanna. For the past years, living alone in Spain, she has been the only person I could talk to.

Actually, I lost count of how many years it has been since I left. Five to six years? I don't know anymore.

The girls know about my decision to leave the Philippines after that night. I spoke to each of them one by one to gain their support. I’ve kept in touch with all of them, except for Jhoanna.

I don’t think I can talk to her or even see her again. The last time I saw her was at the party and during the interview.

Well, Harold found out everything and gave me a chance to think about his offer.

I have my own clothing line and brand now. I regained my popularity and, of course, my dignity as a model.

"Tell them I'll come. Saglit lang siguro ako" I told Ate Sol as I closed my eyes.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but ever since I saw Jho again, she hasn't left my mind.

I can't even sleep, and I’ve found myself reading articles about her and her projects.

She's a well-known journalist with numerous award-winning stories and documentaries. She's not just a broadcaster anymore, she has achieved so much.

It's been years, and I don't know what to do after everything that happened.

Should I pretend that it didn't affect me much and just accept the fact that she ruined what I had before?

"About the launch of the new project, the investors and higher-ups approved the sudden change in launch schedule. Good thing you managed to get through the interview" Ate Sol said while I kept my eyes closed.

"Ate Sol, do you think the launch of the new project will go well? I'm just afraid that the news and media will ruin everything. They'll accuse me again of plagiarizing someone's design."

I felt Ate Sol’s hand on mine, so I opened my eyes.

"Don’t worry, nobody knows about your design. There will be no plagiarism issue anymore. What happened in the past is just a lesson for you. Don’t let anyone ruin your career again" she reassured me.

Bumuntong hininga ako at tumingin sa phone ko.

It's Mikha, she's giving me a heads up that Jhoanna will be there tonight.
