Annabeth's POV
By the time I got home I was a nervous wreck. "Hey Abby can you help me make a fruit salad for my friends?" I asked as I walked in the door.
Nico wasn't going to pleased at be woken up early to come and get us tomorrow, might as well give him a fruit salad.
"Sure mom, be right down! " she called. I gave her a bowl of peaches to cut. I sure hoped Nico liked peaches. "Ow!"
"What happened Abby?" I asked. "I cut myself with the knife," she said. "Run it under some water,"
"Ok," she said. I heard her turn on. "Mom what's happening?!" she cried. I ran to where she was standing and my jaw practically hit the floor.
Her cut was disappearing right before my eyes. I quickly pulled out my phone. "Who are you calling?!" she asked. "A friend," I said walking out of the room.
"Hello?"
"Chiron it's Annabeth,"
"Annabeth! How can I help you?
"Abby has Percy's powers! She cut herself with a knife and when she ran it under the water and the cut completely disappeared!" I cried.
"Be ready early tomorrow, Nico will be there to shadow travel you to camp at 7:00 am, "
" He's not going to pleased waking up before 1:30.in the afternoon," I grumbled before hanging up."Abby, pack your bags we leave tomorrow at 7:00," "Where?" she asks. "You'll see," I said glumly.
As I walked into her room that night to take her bags downstairs something caught my eye. There on her desk was a grey and sea green zigzag striped booklet. It must be her diary I thought. I didn't even know she kept a diary!
I couldn't resist it. The temptation took over me.I picked it up and opened to the most recently written page. What read surprised me.
Dear Diary,
Mom was being really ansy tonight. And then that my cut disappeared before my eyes. But I guess that's the farthest thing from my mind. Lately I've been thinking, to be born I have to have a father right? Mom never mentions dad, I'm starting to worry. Is he in danger? Did my mom leave him? Is he somewhere across the country? I'm too afraid to ask mom though, what if she gets mad or really upset. Seeing all my friends with their family I am just boiling with jealousy. Well, hopefully things will get better.
Love,
AbbyI was shocked. Why didn't she just tell me. Well, I guess my worries would be over tomorrow. She'll finally have a father and hopefully she'll accept Camp Half Blood as a second home. But where she got the diary is beyond me.
