I headcanon Pearl being Emperor and Prince's sister for context

*****

Emperor was sat at the table inside his trailer that was well hidden in dying vegetation. Pearl was leaning against the door, chewing on some gum which was her favorite pass time. There was only one bedroom in the trailer which they both gave to Prince in the end since they decided he needed it more. However, Prince has been locking himself in there a lot. They try to talk to him, but he ignores them and only opens the door for Laceless.

Emperor looked through their stock for trading.
"Pah..." Emperor huffed.
Pearl walked over, resting her arm on the table, "the hell's the matter, Emp?"
"We have barely any medicine to trade, let alone to use ourselves." He lifted his head, his eyes narrowing.
Pearl sat down, shutting her eyes and resting her hands behind her head.
"I'm being honest!" Emperor huffed once again, placing the stock on the floor.

Emperor and Pearl almost looked flawless despite the whole apocalypse, like always. Young, confident, seamless. How they were holding up was coveting to anybody else. Prince also carried the family's looks as well, but he looked more tired all the time.
The trailer looked as dirty as an unwashed mug on the outside but the inside didn't look so bad. The horrible, leathery cushions on the chairs were cracked with sponge seeping through and a smell that could only be described as damp would linger everywhere. However, all three of them were used to it though, so it didn't affect them.

The door was lightly knocked on, a gentle knock. Pearl and Emperor glanced at each other, they knew that that distinct knock belonged to Laceless. Emperor stepped over to the trailer's door and opened it. Laceless was of course there, as expected, and he weakly smiled. Laceless hadn't changed much too, he had a little scratch just on his cheek from accidentally falling over and he was wearing an oversized jacket which smelt of sweat. But everyone smelt of sweat so everyone was immune to the smell at this point.

"Hey, I was getting worried that you were injured since you hadn't visited in so long." Emperor let Laceless in.
"I-I thought it was only a week..." Laceless whispered, placing his splash-o-matic on the table.
"Time don't matter anymore anyway." Pearl placed a hand on Laceless' shoulder, "we don't blame ya."
Laceless gave another innocent smile before immediately heading over to the bedroom door. Laceless whispered something against the crack of the door which made Prince open it before immediately closing it behind him.

Laceless sat on the bed, looking up at Prince. Prince slowly walked over, leaning against the bed himself.
"How you feeling...?" Laceless breathed, gently placing his hand on his back.
"...Bad." Prince mumbled as he lifted his head.
Laceless helped Prince onto the bed.
"Are you sure it's not... Inkblot...?" Laceless quietly suggested.
"I think it's... My mental health..." Prince replied.
Laceless was skeptical but agreed with him anyway.

Goggles and Rider eventually got to the trailer too, knocking on the door. Pearl opened the door and smirked.
"Well! It's team Goofball!" She chuckled.
Goggles pouted and turned his head.
Rider just rolled his eyes, "what's your food stock looking like?"
"Have a look for yourself." Pearl moved out the way and let the boys in.
Emperor glanced over, his condescending grin appearing on his face despite not having any intention on doing anything. He grabbed a cupboard and showed it off to the others. It had soup, granola bars, cereal, fruit and bread. Goggles almost drooled at the cereal.
"Rider, please!" Goggles said as he pointed at the cereal, "sugar!"
Rider rolled his eyes and shook his head, "that won't fill us up, we'll take soup."
Goggles pouted and turned his head away before glancing at Pearl, "do you ever get cavities from all that gum?"
Pearl tilted her head, "does that matter anymore?"
"Fair..." Goggles sighed, he knew Pearl had a more laissez-faire attitude now, as if she couldn't care if she'd die the next day.

"C'mon, Gogs, let's go." Rider turned back after trading with Emperor before crossing his arms.
Goggles walked over and nodded, grabbing his arm. Rider just rolled his eyes. Emperor looked through the pretty necklace that he got in return.
"Where'd you get this?" Emperor asked.
"Found it in Ammo Knights." Rider shrugged before leaving, Goggles being dragged behind.
"I'm gonna give that to Marina..." Pearl mumbled.

Emperor turned back to Pearl, about to start a conversation before he heard Laceless yell,
"Prince!"

I'm so sorry that I don't have good descriptions on how the characters look, I just find it difficult 😅
