Vienna's eyes blazed with fury as she lunged at Xavier, her poisonous nails swiping through the air. Xavier dodged, his sword flashing in the dim light.
"You're blinded by your obsession with Lily Rose," Vienna spat, her voice venomous. "I'm the one who truly understands you, Xavier."
Xavier's face twisted in disgust. "You're nothing but a monster, Vienna."
Vena's laughter echoed through the place. "I'm the only one who can match your strength, your passion."
With a swift kick, Vienna sent Xavier crashing into the wall. She pinned him, her dagger pressed against his throat.
"Surrender to me," she whispered, her breath hot against his ear.
Xavier's eyes flashed with defiance. "Never."
With a sudden burst of strength, Xavier threw Vienna off, his sword slicing through the air. Vienna parried with her claws, the two engaging in a deadly dance.
"You're wasting your life on Lily Rose," Vienna snarled. "She's weak, fragile."
Xavier's face hardened. "She's my wife, my everything."
Vienna's eyes blazed with fury. "I'll kill her, Xavier. I'll destroy everything you love."
Xavier's sword flashed, striking true. Vienna's eyes widened as she stumbled backward, her nails faltering.
"No...Xavier..." she whispered.
With one final thrust to the stomach, Xavier ended Vienna's reign of terror. Her body crumpled to the ground lifeless.
Xavier stood panting, his chest heaving. "Maybe in the next life, you won't be so desperate," he whispered.
He turned to leave, his heart heavy with the weight of his actions.
But Lily Rose still needed him.
He sprinted toward the abandoned well, his sword still clenched in his hand. "Lily Rose!" he shouted.
A faint whisper replied, "Xavier...help me...".
Xavier's hands grasped the lid, heaving it open.
Lily Rose's pale face gazed up at him.
"Xavier," she whispered.
Xavier lifted her into his arms.
"I've got you," he whispered.
Freedom, is what she felt after so many seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, now months.
Xavier's heart swelled as he lifted Lily Rose from the abandoned well. He cradled her frail body, tears of joy and relief streaming down his face.
"Lily Rose, my love," he whispered, his voice trembling.
Lily Rose's eyes fluttered open, her gaze locking onto Xavier's.
"Xavier..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Xavier's smile faltered as he took in her fragile state. Her once-radiant skin now clung to her bones,her long beautiful blonde hair is now shoulder length and dirty, her beauty lost to the cruelty of Vena's torture.
Rage burned within him, but he pushed it aside, focusing on Lily Rose.
"My love, I'm so sorry," Xavier whispered, his lips brushing against her forehead.
Lily Rose's eyes filled with tears. "I thought...I'd never see you again."
Xavier's grip tightened, his voice fierce. "Never, Lily Rose. I'll never let you go."
As he held her close, Lily Rose's body shook with sobs. Xavier's heart ached, his anger simmering.
"How could they do this to you?" he growled.
