Chapter 18: My First Heartbreak

It's almost midnight and we already emptied three bottles of soju, but why it seems like I was the only one being drunk here, huh?

"So, if you're saying that you like your best friend since you're just in middle school then why you ended up with another guy?" Because of spirit of alcohol I told Himchan everything about Daehyun, Yongguk, and probably the whole story of my life?

"Haven't I told you yet that my best friend is already dating another girl? And that girl is also my friend and you know the best part? I helped her to confess with my dearest best friend." Yeah, I helped Min back then without knowing that the guy she's talking about was Daehyun. It's just an ordinary day of my middle school life when Min came to me asking for my help.

"Hee Ra!" A familiar voice called out my name and when I turned around it's Min, a friend from the other class, "Finally, I caught you." She said in between her breathes, "Do you have time?"

"I still have ten minutes before my next class, why so? Do you need something?" I asked as I tilted my head to the side in confusion. When she finally got her breathing pattern back to normal she stood up straightly and pulled me to the stairs where there's only few students. I started to became more confuse by that action wondering what's really up.

"I know this might sound weird to you but I really need your help," she started off and got my both hands then I gave her a questioning look, "I actually...uhm, this is embarrassing but ok, ok, I'll tell you now." She took a deep breath and wore quite serious face, "I think I'm in love."

"Huh?" That's the first word I replied because of surprise, "I-I mean, congrats?" I hesitantly stated because I don't know how should I react with that statement of her? "But, on what way do you need my help? You know that I'm still innocent about that kind of thing, right?" I raised an eyebrow as I thrown my hands in the air dramatically.

"Lee Hee Ra, you're really so cute!" She stated then giggled.

"What? What did I do?" I asked while wearing a dumbfounded face because I really don't know what's happening here.

"Nothing, I just really find you so cute!" Min smile cheekily, "Anyways, I know that you're kinda innocent with this matter but I just really need a friend to talk to about this, I need some advice. I mean, I really like this guy but he's quite famous with girls in and outside our campus so, I don't have confidence at all. Like, I'm not like you that famous with boys," she explained then let out a deep sigh, "Hee Ra, what should I do?" She held my both hands again and stared at me while wearing a very troubled face.

"Min, what are you talking about? You're so cute so don't say that. So what if he's famous with girls? As long as he's not yet dating anyone you shouldn't give up, you really like him, right?" She eagerly nodded her head in response, I then patted her head and gave her a smile, "Then what are you still doing? You should fight for your feelings, you should fight for him. Confess your feelings to him and whatever the outcome is, good or bad at least you can tell yourself that you did something and tried your best, right?"

A big smile appeared on Min's face then jumped into a tight hug on me, "Yah! Thank you so much, Hee Ra!" I hugged her back and patted her back, she then let out a sigh of relief as she broke the hug, "I'll confess my feelings for him later, and whatever his answer is you'll be the first one to know."

"Ok, fighting!" I cheered her up as I beamed her a big smile, and just right in time the bell rang, "So, I'll keep going now, see you later." I tapped her shoulder and turned my back already, ready to go back to my class.

"Wait Hee Ra!" She shouted that stopped me, I turned to her and gave her questioning look, "Don't you want to know who's the guy I'm talking about?" From then I realized that she haven't told me who is he.

"Nah, I might just steal him from you if he's handsome so, better not tell who is he for now." I joked and both of us chuckled, "Make him yours first before introducing him to me." I winked then once again I turned my back heading to my class.

"I'll really make him mine! Thank you much Hee Ra!" She shouted and I jut raised my right hand and wave my hand to her as I continued to walk away.

After my class and duty as student council Vice President I went straightly to the gym to pick up Daehyun from his club activities, basketball club practice. I chose to pass through the back entrance since that's the nearest entrance from where I am. But before I reach the said entrance I saw a guy and a girl standing near the entrance that surprised me and took me aback. When I looked at it clearly my eyes widened seeing who are them, it's Daehyun and Min?

Min is the basketball club's manager while Daehyun is the team captain so, I first thought that they might just talking about club-related thing not until I saw Min's expression. She's looking down, chewing her lower lip, playing with her fingers as a sign that she's nervous, and she look restless. Our conversation from earlier suddenly appeared on my mind that made my eyes widened, I felt that my inside was being squeezed, and when she took a deep breath and look straightly to Daehyun's face my heart skipped a beat.

I can't hear what she's saying from where I was standing at but I know what's that talked all about. I clenched my both fists anxiously waiting for the next scene to happen, I bit my lower lip trying to contain my emotions. My subconscious was smacking, kicking slapping myself inside for being so stupid, did I just help another girl to confess to the guy I love? But isn't it my fault not letting Min tell me who's the guy she's talking about earlier?

My Id crossed her fingers wishing that Daehyun will turn her down while my superego hitting me saying that Min is my friend and I shouldn't wish for something that will hurt her. My Id and superego were fighting with each other but stopped when something inside me crashed, when Min jumped into a tight hug with Daehyun, and Daehyun hugged her back. Tears immediately rushed out from my eyes to compensate with the very painful feeling I was feeling now. My first heartbreak.

I already passed through the huge gate of KHA, my school, and now with pain hitting my head I'm walking slowly towards the main building where my first class will be held. Ugh, why did I even drink last night, huh? After we drunk four bottles of soju and after telling him my whole life story, Himchan walked me home already.

Should I ask Yongguk for that same tea from before? Yeah, ask her Hee Ra and tell him also you went to drink with a guy you barely know and you let him walked you home up to your room where he even haven't been to yet, and that guy you addresses him already as a friend. He'll surely be so happy to hear that, Lee Hee Ra, he'll surely be so overwhelm. But ugh! Seriously, my head really hurts!

While I was busy complaining to myself I felt someone poked my shoulder that made me jolted and when I turned around I saw a familiar face wearing a familiar smile, "K-Kim Himchan? Wha-..." My words were cut off when he suddenly crashed his lips into mine in the middle of KHA student.

"Good morning, Riri!" He cheerfully greeted after he broke the kiss while me on the other hand was turned into a stone wearing dumbfounded face.
