Chatper 2.8 - I can

Jin pulled Jungkook onto his lap, and tried to calm him down. Everyone's eyes fell on So Hyun, asking for an answer.

Jin sighed, and carried Jungkook to his room, knowing that So Hyun wouldn't say anything infront of him.

' Did you actually fight? ' Jimin asked when Jin left.

' No! Listen to me first. ' She said and took a deep breath before starting. ' Our teacher, Ms. Jung Hee, she shouted at us today. ' So Hyun continued in a low tone. ' She... She asked Jungkook a question but he couldn't answer it. So she asked us to meet her after class. And when we did, She ranted at us, saying... saying how frustrated she was with us being too overconfident, and taking leaves for no reason... ' She stopped when a tear slid down her cheek, which she wiped in a hurry.

' What. She shouted at you, for not being able to answer in class? ' Namjoon asked being confused.

Taehyung - I mean, was he paying attention in class or?...

So Hyun - He was! But she asked a question from the topic she hadn't taught yet...

' And what about you hmm? Why did she scold you? ' He asked while pulling her onto his lap. ' I don't know, really. For taking a leave? ' She replied while resting her head on his chest.

Yoongi - Ms. Jung Hee, right?

So Hyun - Yes

' For now, eat all of you, we'll talk later ' Hoseok said with a sigh

Once all of them were done, they gathered in the living room and turned the TV on. Taehyung went to check on Jungkook while the others continued watching.

He walked to Jungkook's room, and went in. Jin was patting his back, trying to make him talk but he just sat there, emotionless.

Jin - Jungkookie? Atleast eat something?

Taehyung - Hyung, you can go eat, I'll be with him

Jin - ( sigh ) Fine, be with him

Taehyung - I will

Taehyung pulled Jungkook onto his lap, and waited until Jungkook spoke. Not long after, Jungkook took a deep breath, and started talking.

Jungkook - Hyung?

Taehyung - Yes?

Jungkook - Am I... over... overconfident?

Taehyung - ( sigh ) Jungkookie, whatever she said isn't true, she was just... angry

Jungkook - Angry at me?

Taehyung - No! Her day must've gone bad, she didn't mean it, don't take it to your heart

' But what if she was mad at me, hyung... ' He said while biting his lower lip.

' What did hyung say about biting your lip Jungkook-ah? ' He sighed and continued ' Don't overthink it bun, just listen to hyung, you trust me right? '

' I do ' Jungkook mumbled in response, and rested his head on Taehyung's chest.

Few minutes later, Jin came in with a plate of food. Jungkook hesitated at first, not having any appetite to eat, but he was hungry. So, giving in at last, he took a bite.

Taehyung - Everyone's downstairs watching? Do you want to join them?

Jungkook - No I will sleep

Taehyung - ( chuckle ) Sleepy head

Jin - Yah don't tease him, last bite Jungkook-ah

Taehyung - Done eating, have your medicine and sleep

Jin - I'll get your medicine

Taehyung - Did you understand the topic I taught today? The worksheet was easy yes?

Jungkook - It was, I understood the chapter

Taehyung - Good

Jin - ( gives sachet ) Your medicine

Jungkook drinks water and goes to wash up

Jin - ( sigh ) These two, but what actually happened?

Taehyung - Their teacher shouted at them, for taking leaves 

Jin - Only?

Taehyung - And... being overconfident?

Jin - ( scoff ) Overconfident? What is she- Hasn't she seen their scores?

Taehyung - Even I was confused, how did they become overconfident

Jin - ( sigh ) Leave it, hopefully it's a peaceful night, You stay with him, So Hyun will sleep with Jimin

Taehyung - Okay Hyung, Good Night

Jin - Sleep Well Taehyung-ah, I'm going

Jungkook - Hyungg I'm here

Taehyung - Let's sleep, come here

Taehyung - Good Night Jungkook-ah, Sleep well

Jungkook - You too Hyung, Good Night

And they slipped into their dreamworlds. Not long after drifting off, Jungkook started shuffling in his sleep, murmuring inaudible words. Then suddenly, he jerked awake his eyes snapping open as he sat up, breathing heavily. His breaths came unevenly. He looked around and saw Taehyung, who was in deep sleep, unaware of his surroundings. He recalled how the words echoed in his mind.

I'm very disappointed in both of you.

You've become too overconfident.

Do you take our teaching for granted?

If I ask you a simple question, you can't answer!

' No no no... I'm not overconfident, I-I'm good, I-I can answer her question, I can ' He whispered to himself, as silently as he could, not wanting to disturb his hyung's sleep.

Unknowingly, tears began to fall as he softly sobbed, covering his mouth with both hands. He cried for a goodtime, eventually calming down. He wiped his tears and looked around once more. He walked over to the large glass window and sat, leaning against it. He looked at the moon shining brightly, and stared at the night sky.

He calmed down completely and rested his head tiredly against the window. 'How much longer would I have to endure all this? And how much longer will they suffer... with me?'  He thought, and let his tears fall, once again.

After a few minutes, he took a deep breath and tiredly walked towards his bed. He glanced at Taehyung, then laid back down and curled into his embrace, finding comfort in his warmth.

The next morning, Jin had come to wake them up himself. He was hoping that they slept well. He entered and walked over to the bed. Taehyung was already awake, adoring the little one in his arms.

Jin - Good Morning, Slept well?

Taehyung - Yes! What about you?

Jin - I rested well, nothing happened hmm?

Taehyung - No, He slept well I think

Jin - Jungkookie?

Taehyung - Let's not wake him up yet, there's still half an hour left

Jin - Yah... Are you sure he slept well Taehyungie?

Taehyung - Yes Hyung

Jin - Then... these dried... tears?
