Chapter twenty-two: Meant to be

Seungkwan 

I slipped out of the safe darkness of the basement into the hallway of demons,making myself smaller, looking like a lamb who would die just with a snarl towards him while Vernon's dagger stayed on my waist, hidden carefully between the lace of shame, trauma of life. 

My body vibrates with the anticipation of chaotic night, it's night my life, our life would be defined,if I get to stay with my alpha or lose him and I didn't plan to go with later, because the end game is only me and him,and our cottage, where I can bake cupcakes for him. 

He never says but I know it's his favourite,I intend to write it in a book I found the first day. 

" Where are you going?" A hand jerked me by my arms, pinning me against the wall,my head spinned,my back hurt but I kept my calm. If life is giving me a second chance to stay with my alpha,I would kill for him,kill to live with him,kill to live for him. If I can die for him I can live for him too. 

"To the auction hall." I said, looking down at his feet,as much as I can to avoid hurting an alpha's ego,I wouldn't have to hurt his dick,I am not here to fight but find Seokmin,tell him to save everyone. Alpha stood tall before me, checking me out from head to toe as he let go of my arms,a pain shooting through them arms because of grip,as I hissed, watching him go away. 

Slipping between the omega's in the auction hall, Seokmin sat on the leather chair, wearing a black tunic, shining gold jewellery,his hair slick back, looking like he owns the world,but the tension in his eyes as he searched between the crowd of half naked omegas and egoistic alphas for his brothers. 

Standing in between I couldn't find a way to talk to Seokmin and not get found out,but I have to do something, anything,a risk is worth, Wonwoo is already with Vernon and Chan in basement from where they can run away, Seokmin is in front of me,a team of soldier outside of the brothel as per what Chan had told me. 

All I have to do is meet Seokmin,tell him everything. 

My heart bounced in my chest as I made my way between the crowd. Some months ago I was standing in one of the barriers, getting groped and stared at with a scary disgusting look of alpha who had brought me, even though he talked sweetly, almost respectfully but I didn't trust him.

My legs felt heavy as I made my way to Seokmin,a few steps more and freedom will be mine, Vernon will be mine and I will be his. His eyes landed on me,as my eyes landed on him,as I showed him thumbs up, signalling that Wonwoo is save,I wouldn't have matter to him and Lee family,I didn't care much about that, Vernon is all that I wanted. 

" Trying to save yourself from the place you belong," Ezra Blackwell, the Lucifer of the hell called brothel muttered in my ears as he, pointed a dragger on my back,his stinky breathe hitting on my neck,as my fingers twitched around the dragger Vernon had given me. I saw as Seokmin walked to us, after telling something to a man's ear, Ezra didn't reacted to Seokmin,he didn't know about Seokmin, Ezra thought I am running away all by myself,my doubt confirmed when he asked about Wonwoo.

"Where is your brother?" 

And I turned around, dragger in my hand, digging it's way into his chest but not only mine dragger which cut through the, it's his too, which cutted through my flesh and bone,sticking between my ribs,blood oozed out from his shoulders, matching with mine,pain shooting through me as I fall back accepting hard floor to hit me but Seokmin's arm's catched me even before I can hurt my head. 

Everyone ran here and there,as so many soldiers raced into the hall, arresting everyone, rescuing omegas, helping them. 

" Everyone is in the basement..from the washroom....three floors down." I tried to told Seokmin,my head on his lap as he called out for help as if my death will be death of him,like he cared about my whereabouts,as if I am as much important for Lee family like Wonwoo is ,like Jihoon's partner would be, Seokmin didn't even care about Vernon. 

" Stay alive..stay alive,my baby brother can't live without you." he said, patting my cheeks,as he removed his coat and wrapped it around my rib, picking me up and running outside of brothel,a bunch of men with chains were rounded as they kneeled in front of soldiers as Wonwoo, Vernon and Chan came in view. Ezra was still bleeding on the floor,dragger deeper and arched into his shoulders as if someone had stepped on him. 

Maybe after all I didn't mean to be with Vernon, maybe it is really in another universe but I don't want to leave my alpha back,alone in his cottage if I die. Who would cook for him,wash his white clothes and coloured clothes separately, who would love him. I couldn't die,no,I have to live but blood soaked a piece of clothes I had on. 

" Seungkwan don't close your eyes...for Vernon,he is here...please." Seokmin said as the cold air of the chaotic night hit me and I get laid on soft stretcher, Vernon wearing gloves before me,he looked hot, Wonwoo helping Vernon as Seokmin encouraged me not to close my eyes but when Wonwoo injected something in my veins,hands which was holding Seokmin's hand tightly loses and e everything went black,all the sounds dropped silent.

" Wake up..now just wake up." A voice all too familiar said,my head hurts as I groan, moving my fingers feels like a I was lifting a big mountain,as I opened my eyes and saw Vernon crying,his head buried between his hands,as he mumbled something,I can only make some words like wake up or I love you. 

" Vernon," I called him, trying to sit up,my hands going to his head but he was around my legs and I couldn't touch him,still adjusting to the lights, I called him again. 

" Vernon," 

" Seungkwan," he cried, looking at him,his eyes puffy,dark circles under his eyes ruined his handsome face as he looked at me with disbelief, touching my face as if I was a ghost or I am dead? 

" Kwannie is alive, right?" I asked,he broke into a laughter as he hugged me, engulfing me in a bone crushing hug as he kissed me deeply, sniffing between the kiss," I thought you will never wake up." He said, between the kiss,as he turned his head to the other side,my neck arching as we kissed. An old door sound came before the sound of Wonwoo hyung breaking down on the floor,as Vernon and I broke apart. " I thought my baby would see his uncle sleeping for whole life, God you scared me." Wonwoo said, standing up as he wore a fitting top,which shows off his little tummy,it wasn't there the last day. 

They reacted like this, hyung's baby bump and a food which he had brought " what had happened to Seungkwan?" I pointed at myself,as I stared at both Vernon and Wonwoo. 

" After losing too much blood, you went in comma, it's almost two months." Wonwoo said,as the information made a home in my head, Vernon is waiting on me like this everyday for two months, everyday, every hour, every minute and seconds in an uncertainty of life and death while fighting with death. " Oh my alpha," I said as I took him in embrace,his head between my arms,as I kissed his hair. 

" I love you so much that I couldn't live without you...I am just tired." I said, smashing my lips against his,he smelled like apples and smoke,as he released his pheromones around me ,I felt ecstacy to be with my alpha. " I love you too,so much that it physically hurts to see you like this. I missed you." He said against my lips, finding it hard to detach myself from him but Wonwoo is staring at us. 

"How far are you now ?" I asked. 

" Six months." He replied as he sat down on the table, handing food to me, placing it on the table," feed him,he hadn't eaten for two days. Last time Seokmin forcefully fed him but he is not here, right now..have gone with a search team to find Dutchess. I am glad I don't have to deal with Sooyoung, otherwise with this pregnancy...I would have slapped her." He said as he placed,eggs steak and rice on the table, handing me a spoon and water to Vernon to hold,in case he choked.

" Kwannie loves Nonie." 

" Nonie loves Kwannie,too."He said as he opened his mouth and ate the food.
