"Mom?" Brooklynn called, walking down the stairs with JJ behind her.
Ariella appeared around the corner, wearing her pink My Little Pony oven mitts.
"Julie! Where were you last night?" Ariella asked her daughter.
"Mom, I told you I've been staying at John B's," Brooklynn sighed.
Ariella nodded, shifting her attention to JJ, "Hi, sweetie. How are you doing?"
"I'm all good," JJ smiled.
Brooklynn's hand drifted to her opposite wrist to play with her bracelets, "So, Mom..."
JJ took Brooklynn's hand in his own, Ariella sending him a small appreciative smile.
"I was wondering if you'd be alright with me heading to Charleston tonight?" Brooklynn asked.
"Charleston?" Ariella repeated, "Why?"
"Pope got this letter at school from somebody named C Limbrey. He said that he had evidence that could clear John B's name," Brooklynn informed her mother.
"So you want to go to some random man's house?" Ariella asked, raising a brow in judgment.
"Um, yeah," Brooklynn shrugged, "But JJ, Pope and Kie are coming."
"Anna's letting Kiara go all the way to Charleston on a school night?" Ariella retorted.
"Yup," JJ nodded.
Ariella didn't believe either of the teens. But she figured this could possibly be the closure Brooklynn needed to get over John B and Sarah's death.
"Are you coming back tonight?" Ariella asked.
Brooklynn looked to JJ, unsure, "Uh..."
"We'll be back by tomorrow morning," JJ told Ariella.
"That's fine," Ariella smiled at JJ, "But, Julie, I'll need you back by lunchtime to drive me to work."
"Okay!" Brooklynn said, "Thanks, Mom."

Unfortunately, Kiara's parents weren't as kind as Brooklynn's mother. Anna, Mike and Kiara were currently in the middle of a yelling match on the porch.
JJ, Brooklynn and Pope sat in Brooklynn's BMW, waiting for Kiara.
