Chapter 12 — Jealous.
Lucy.
I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed in the shower, frustration bubbling up inside me. Yuri’s words kept playing on repeat in my mind, over and over again. Even when I tried to push them away, it was as if they echoed in my head, refusing to let go. The irritation was unbearable, like an itch I couldn’t scratch.
His words replayed relentlessly, each one laced with a mix of emotions I couldn’t untangle.
I didn’t even know how to feel anymore. Should I be thrilled that Azriel said I was the first woman he ever brought here? Or should I be annoyed because he used to be a womanizer? It was in the past, sure, but that didn’t make it any easier to process. Should I feel flattered? Or furious? I hated how confused I was.
I got dressed in a huff, my irritation spilling over into every movement. When I stepped out of the bathroom, I slammed the door behind me, the loud bang echoing through the room.
Azriel’s gaze was already on me. His eyes sparkled with amusement, and there it was—that smile. That maddening, charming smile.
Kahit pogi ka di ako magiging marupok 'nu. Isip ko. Sobrang gwapo ba naman nito, pero di talaga ako magiging marupok.
He sat quietly on the bed, his elbows propped on his knees, waiting for me to come out. The anticipation in his eyes was undeniable. As soon as I stepped into the room, he stood up and walked toward me with an intensity that made my breath catch.
Instinctively, I took a step back, overwhelmed by the weight of his presence.
"You look beautiful in that dress, love," he murmured, his voice low and captivating. His hands found my waist, pulling me gently yet firmly closer to him.
I’m wearing a stunning high-low white dress that feels like something out of a dream. The off-the-shoulder neckline rests delicately on my shoulders, highlighting my collarbones, while the soft, voluminous sleeves drape elegantly down my arms. The fitted bodice hugs my waist perfectly, giving me a refined, timeless silhouette.
With every movement, the shorter front of the skirt reveals my legs, while the long, flowing back trails gracefully behind me, adding a dramatic flair to each step. The fabric is so light, so airy, it feels as though I’m floating. Paired with heels, I feel graceful and ethereal—like I’ve stepped straight into a fairytale.
I don’t know how it fits me so perfectly. Even the heels—how are they exactly my size?
“This must be expensive, right?” I asked hesitantly, my voice unsure, almost whispering.
He smiled and shook his head. “Nope.” Then, without warning, he kissed my cheek and wrapped me in his arms. “Gosh, you’re so beautiful!” His voice was filled with wonder, and his embrace tightened around me as if he couldn’t contain his excitement.
Umirap ako. "Sus, kahit hindi naman talaga." Naiinis kong sagot sa kaniya. "Magkano 'to?" Tanong ko.
Hinalikan nito ang noo ko bago ako sagutin. "Two-hundred thousand lang yung dress, love—"
"Lang?!" Pagputol ko kaniya. "My gosh! Are you joking?!" Humiwalay ako sa kaniya.
Inosente itong umiling. "Nope, I'm telling the truth, baby. That dress is designed by the famous designer in Italy. Pero mura lang naman yan." Ngumuso ito at nag akmang yayakapin muli ako pero umtras ako.
